INTECH Process Automation is seeking a seasoned Sr. Engineer ICSS to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The Senior Engineer ICSS is responsible for leading ICSS maintenance, troubleshooting, system integrity and engineering activities across multi-vendor DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G and PLC systems. The role ensures safe, reliable and secure operation of control and safety systems, while supervising ICSS resources and controlling system modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead ICSS maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics and system-integrity activities for DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G and PLC systems.
- Review system architecture, controller/I/O health, networks, servers, workstations, communication links and system diagnostics.
- Lead troubleshooting and critical incident response, including root cause analysis and recovery of control and safety systems.
- Review and approve ICSS modifications, configuration changes, work methods, test procedures and test plans.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 61508/61511, approved safety requirements and site engineering standards.
- Manage SIS/ESD functional testing, proof testing, interlocks, cause & effect and safety-system integrity.
- Support alarm management, including alarm rationalization, nuisance alarm reduction and performance monitoring.
- Oversee ICSS network, server, virtualization, redundancy and communication-system performance.
- Ensure effective backup, restoration, configuration management and software baseline control.
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, loop checks, functional testing and post-maintenance verification.
- Coordinate interfaces between DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G, PLC, SCADA, historian and third-party systems.
- Review system diagnostics, maintenance records, failure trends and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Ensure proper MOC, change control, cybersecurity and configuration-management practices.
- Supervise ICSS engineers, specialists and technicians and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
- Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and HSE for complex technical issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, test records, incident reports, configuration records and CMMS close-out.
- Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, HSE and site ICSS management procedures.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas, petrochemical or industrial facilities, including at least 5 years in a senior/lead ICSS role.
- Strong experience with multi-vendor DCS, SIS, ESD, F&G and PLC systems.
- In-depth knowledge of IEC 61508/61511, safety instrumented systems and functional safety practices.
- Experience in alarm management, ICSS networks, virtualization, redundancy and system communications.
- Strong knowledge of backup/restore, configuration management and software baseline control.
- Proven capability in critical incident management, troubleshooting and RCA.
- Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, proof testing, functional testing and system modifications.
- Strong understanding of MOC, cybersecurity, system integrity and change control.
- Experience supervising ICSS personnel and coordinating OEMs, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong technical documentation, leadership and communication skills.
- Functional safety certification/training such as TÜV or equivalent is highly desirable.
