Description

INTECH Process Automation is looking for an experienced Lifting Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team. The successful candidate will be Responsible for lift engineering, lifting plans, load calculations, crane selection, rigging arrangements, and critical lifting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review lifting plans, lift studies, method statements, and risk assessments for routine and critical lifts.
  • Perform load, radius, lifting capacity, center-of-gravity, sling-angle, and rigging calculations.
  • Select suitable cranes, lifting equipment, rigging accessories, and configurations based on load and site conditions.
  • Verify crane capacity charts, boom configuration, radius, ground conditions, outrigger loads, and ground bearing requirements.
  • Develop and verify rigging arrangements, lifting points, slings, shackles, spreader beams, lifting beams, and other accessories.
  • Review equipment certificates, inspection status, SWL/WLL, and certification validity before lifting activities.
  • Verify competency and certification of Crane Operators, Riggers, Banksmen/Signalers, and Lifting Supervisors.
  • Conduct or support site surveys, lift-path assessments, access reviews, and obstruction/clearance checks.
  • Supervise or provide engineering support for critical, complex, tandem, restricted-access, and high-risk lifting operations.
  • Ensure lifting activities comply with approved lift plans, exclusion zones, communication arrangements, and control measures.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Maintenance, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Logistics, HSE, Crane Operators, Riggers, and other representatives.
  • Review lifting-related method statements, JSA/RAMS, temporary works, and technical queries.
  • Monitor lifting execution and stop or escalate activities where conditions deviate from the approved plan or become unsafe.
  • Maintain accurate lift plans, calculations, equipment certificates, inspection records, and lifting documentation.
  • Support lifting audits, incident investigations, lessons learned, and improvement of lifting practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable lifting standards, procedures, PTW, HSE, and critical-lift requirements.
Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Relevant engineering degree; role-specific lifting certification where applicable.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, including 3 years in lifting engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong experience in lift engineering, lifting plans, load/radius calculations, crane selection, and rigging design.
  • Competent in crane capacity, load charts, center of gravity, sling angles, ground bearing, and outrigger load calculations.
  • Knowledge of rigging accessories, lifting points, spreader beams, lifting beams, slings, shackles, and WLL/SWL requirements.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing critical and complex lift plans and method statements.
  • Knowledge of applicable lifting standards, Company requirements, and recognized industry practices.
  • Experience verifying crane, lifting equipment, rigging, and personnel certifications.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys, lift-path assessments, and lifting risk reviews.
  • Strong coordination with Lifting Supervisors, Riggers, Banksmen, Crane Operators, Construction, HSE, etc.
  • Good technical reporting, calculation, problem-solving, and lifting risk-management skills.
  • Strong awareness of PTW, exclusion zones, suspended loads, dropped objects, ground stability, and critical-lift controls.
