Job Title - Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Senior Construction Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing building mechanical construction to achieve safety, cost, schedule, quality and sustainability objectives. Mechanical engineering and construction include (but not limited to) governance to ensure mechanical system serving semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments. The role ensures cost and budget planning, monitoring and controlling that cleanroom HVAC, exhaust, chilled water, fire protection, CDA, PCW and any other dry and wet mechanical utility systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and handed over in compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical Standards, contamination-control requirements, safety regulations, and Fab milestones including Cleanroom Pressurization, Ready For Equipment (RFE), and Ready For Manufacturing (RFM). Additional responsibilities include facilities maintenance, facilities administration and mechanical related maintenance, documentation and administration.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Technical Leadership & Engineering Oversight
- As the discipline lead for mechanical systems including:
- Cleanroom HVAC and recirculation systems
- Make-up air units (MAUs), FFUs, interstitial plenums
- Process exhaust systems (General, Acid, Solvent, Toxic)
- Chilled water, process vacuum, and mechanical utilities
- Review and approve mechanical design packages, specifications, and technical submissions.
- Ensure full compliance with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards.
Construction Execution & Coordination
- Lead mechanical coordination with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA, and tool-hookup teams.
- Resolve complex site engineering issues and cross-discipline conflicts.
- Support construction sequencing critical to cleanroom integrity and contamination control.
- Chair or lead mechanical coordination and cleanroom readiness meetings.
Change Management & Technical Authority
- Lead the discussion for mechanical RFIs, deviations, and field changes.
- Evaluate change impacts to system performance, cleanroom conditions, safety, cost, and schedule.
- Support change approval processes with technical justifications.
Commissioning, RFE & RFM Readiness
- Lead mechanical readiness for:
- Cleanroom blowdown and pressurization stages
- Temperature, humidity, pressure, and airflow compliance
- RFE and RFM milestone achievement
- Review and approve mechanical commissioning plans and test results.
- Ensure mechanical systems are stable and production-ready before handover.
Handover & Operations Support
- Review and approve mechanical as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.
- Support transition to Facilities Operations and reliability teams.
- Capture lessons learned and support standard improvements.
Safety & EHS Leadership
- Provide mechanical discipline leadership for safety reviews and hazard assessments.
- Ensure exhaust, gas room ventilation, and hazardous systems meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Skills Required
- Experience leading mechanical construction for semiconductor fab and cleanroom environments
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with cleanroom HVAC systems, MAUs, FFUs, interstitial plenums, and cleanroom pressurization
- Experience with process exhaust systems (including acid, solvent, toxic), chilled water, process vacuum, CDA and PCW systems
- Proven experience in commissioning, RFE and RFM readiness, and mechanical systems testing for production readiness
- Experience reviewing and approving mechanical design packages, specifications, and commissioning plans
- Ability to lead cross-discipline coordination with Electrical, I&C, Process, CSA, and tool-hookup teams
- Familiarity with Global Facilities Mechanical and Cleanroom standards and relevant safety/regulatory requirements for hazardous systems
