The Role

It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

Peter Millar is seeking a strategic and hands-on Sr. Director of Global Sourcing to lead global vendor strategy, cost optimization, and sourcing execution across all product categories for the Peter Millar and G/Fore brands. This role sits at the heart of our supply chain and product creation ecosystem, partnering cross-functionally with the Design, Development, Planning, and Production teams to build a best-in-class sourcing platform that delivers quality, speed, and margin.

You will identify and onboard world-class suppliers, negotiate product costs, manage duty/tariff impact, and continuously optimize vendor performance. This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, premium-brand environment and understands how to engineer global sourcing strategies that balance creativity, compliance, and cost.

This role is located in Durham, NC and would require you to be on-site.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sourcing Strategy & Vendor Management

  • Partner with Design, Development and Production teams to shape and execute global sourcing strategies across apparel, accessories and footwear
  • Identify and qualify new vendor partners; strengthen existing relationships
  • Parter with mills and raw material suppliers to align fabric development with brand vision, cost targets, and production timelines; bring deep understanding of textile performance, compliance and innovation
  • Negotiate costing and terms across vendors and countries, factoring in duties, tariffs, and geo-political risk
  • Partner with Production and Design to place products with the right factories at the right cost
  • Travel domestically and internationally to evaluate, onboard, and maintain vendor alignment

Cost Optimization & Margin Strategy

  • Lead cost engineering conversations early in the development process
  • Develop and track KPIs to evaluate vendor performance, quality, efficiency, and compliance
  • Identify cost levers and drive continuous margin improvement without compromising brand and quality standards
  • Align sourcing strategies with speed-to-market goals and inventory turns

Compliance, Quality & Brand Standards

  • Partner with Compliance and Production teams to uphold labor, environmental, and trade standards
  • Define and enforce brand-level production standards and quality expectations
  • Develop and execute factory certification standards
  • Build scalable processes that ensure consistency and compliance across all vendor partners
  • Identify sourcing strategies that support global distribution while balancing need for localization and speed-to-market

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Design, Development, Merchandising, and Production to bring collections to market efficiently
  • Attend key line reviews and sourcing meetings to stay aligned on business goals and creative direction
  • Act as a key voice in long-term supply chain strategy and product lifecycle management

COMPETENCIES:

  • You’re a builder.  You don’t wait for a playbook – you create it.  You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing the work to make things better, faster and smarter.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial — you understand the power of a flexible, margin-driven sourcing model
  • Relationship-focused — you bring credibility with vendors and build trust through clarity and follow-through
  • Operationally sharp — you know how to get product made, at the right cost, with no surprises
  • Detail-obsessed but comfortable in ambiguity — you manage both daily execution and long-term strategy
  • Bring a strong network and working history with global mills and material suppliers; translate design vision into scalable, cost-effective sourcing through early collaboration and technical insight

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA a plus)
  • 10+ years in global sourcing, with experience in apparel required; accessories and/or footwear preferred
  • Deep knowledge of product costing, vendor negotiation, duty/tariff navigation, and compliance frameworks
  • Strong international supplier network and willingness to travel globally as needed
  • Experience in a premium brand or vertically integrated business a plus

If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
