The Senior Director, Global Logistics is responsible for leading Blue Diamond Growers’ enterprise-wide global logistics and customer service strategy, execution, compliance, and performance. This role owns the end-to-end movement of product and post-sale customer experience across domestic and international markets, including transportation, logistics planning and deployment, third-party warehousing, logistics compliance, analytics, and Global Customer Service. The Senior Director ensures products and orders move efficiently, cost-effectively, compliantly, and in alignment with customer commitments and business priorities.As a senior functional leader, this role establishes the operating model, capabilities, performance expectations, and cross-functional alignment required to strengthen service, improve cost and reliability, manage risk, and support business growth. The Senior Director leads leaders across Logistics and Global Customer Service and partners closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Quality, IT, Legal, and external logistics providers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Set and lead the enterprise strategy for global logistics and customer service, integrating transportation, deployment, warehousing, compliance, order execution, and post-sale customer support into a cohesive service model.
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of domestic and international transportation across truckload, LTL, intermodal, rail, air freight, ocean freight, cargo, ports, and related shipping channels.
- Ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across Blue Diamond’s global supply chain while balancing service, capacity, inventory, risk, and financial objectives.
- Own logistics planning and product deployment to ensure inventory is positioned appropriately to meet customer, market, production, and operational requirements.
- Oversee third-party logistics warehousing strategy, relationships, contracts, capacity, service levels, inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, cost management, food-grade handling, and operational performance.
- Own logistics compliance processes related to domestic and international transportation, export shipping, customs requirements, documentation, trade compliance support, carrier compliance, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitor global transportation trends, capacity constraints, port congestion, freight market changes, geopolitical risks, and service disruptions; establish contingency plans and controls that protect continuity of supply and customer service.
- Own the Global Customer Service function and the post-sale customer experience, ensuring consistent and effective execution for domestic and global B2B customers.
- Build and advance a high-performing customer service capability aligned to customer segmentation, business priorities, and differentiated service expectations.
- Drive customer service performance through clear KPIs and accountability, including OTIF, accounts receivable support, EDI adoption, inventory health, customer scorecards, order execution, and service reliability.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex customer, logistics, service, and operational issues; drive timely resolution, root-cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Lead customer and logistics response during critical business events, including recalls, supply disruptions, transportation interruptions, and other service-impacting events, ensuring effective communication and post-event improvement.
- Partner with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, and Customer Service leaders to align demand, production schedules, inventory deployment, order execution, lead times, and customer commitments.
- Lead logistics and customer service analytics, reporting, dashboards, and scorecards across cost, service, capacity, carrier performance, warehouse performance, inventory deployment, OTIF, and customer experience.
- Identify and deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, network optimization, process standardization, and continuous improvement opportunities across Logistics and Customer Service.
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to manage budgets, freight spend, accruals, forecasting, contracts, and vendor performance, and exercise sound trade-offs to achieve service and economic goals.
- Champion the implementation and adoption of systems and tools that improve order management, logistics execution, planning, visibility, analytics, and customer service in partnership with IT and Global Supply.
- Lead, coach, and develop leaders and teams across Logistics and Global Customer Service; set clear goals, priorities, performance expectations, succession plans, and development plans.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, agility, and customer-focused execution while leading organizational change and adoption of new processes, tools, and operating models.
- Serve as the senior functional leader for cross-functional business decisions, executive escalations, strategic initiatives, and long-range capability and network planning related to Logistics and Customer Service.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, International Business, or a related field.
- 12+ years of progressive experience across logistics, transportation, distribution, global supply chain, customer service, or related operations, including leadership of complex or global functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading global transportation across multiple modes, including ocean, truck, rail, air, cargo, port operations, and/or intermodal shipping.
- Experience managing 3PL warehousing providers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other external logistics partners.
- Strong understanding of logistics compliance, international shipping, export documentation, customs processes, transportation regulations, and risk management.
- Experience leading or directly overseeing global B2B customer service, order execution, customer escalations, and post-sale service operations.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leadership of managers or functional leaders and demonstrated success developing talent and driving organizational change.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, freight spend, vendor relationships, contracts, performance metrics, and financial trade-offs.
- Strong strategic and analytical capability with demonstrated use of KPIs, dashboards, root-cause analysis, and data to improve cost, service, reliability, and business performance.
- Proven cross-functional leadership and project management experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and align competing priorities across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated expertise with enterprise ERP/MRP and logistics systems; ability to lead adoption of tools and technology that improve visibility, execution, and customer service.

- Approximately 5 direct reports, including leaders across Global Logistics and Global Customer Service; broader responsibility includes the Global Customer Service organization with two managers and 15+ account representatives.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sitting for prolonged periods and working at a computer workstation for extended periods.
