Responsibilities
- Develop and execute GenBio AI’s business development and external partnership strategy, which is aligned with company objectives and the scientific roadmap.
- Lead market research, customer engagement and alignment for AI products developed by GenBio AI.
- Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities across academia, biopharma, CROs, medtech, RWD/RWE providers, and data platforms.
- Build and lead high-impact partnerships, including joint research, data/sample access, technology licensing, and asset acquisition.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to assess potential partners, define value, negotiate deal terms, and manage ongoing relationships.
- Work closely with Research, Product, Legal, Finance, and Operations to shape partnership structures that maximize scientific and strategic value.
- Provide insight into market dynamics, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform internal decision-making and Business Development prioritization.
- Represent GenBio AI at industry conferences, events, and meetings to establish credibility and grow our external network
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify capability gaps or opportunities that can be addressed through external partnerships.
- Contribute to the refinement of GenBio AI’s long-term commercial and scientific positioning as we scale.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in biopharma, biotechnology, or healthcare technology with at least 5 years in business development, strategic partnerships, or corporate development.
- Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D lifecycle, drug discovery and development, and industry business models.
- Experience leading complex negotiations and managing end-to-end deal execution in a scientific or technical context.
- Ability to discuss and understand AI/ML applications in life sciences, with the ability to bridge technical and commercial discussions.
- Track record of forming and scaling high-value research or commercial partnerships in startup or matrixed environments.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD, or equivalent) strongly preferred in a relevant scientific or business field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in early-stage companies is a big plus
- Global experience or working with international partners.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and drive initiatives from concept to execution.
