We take pride in fostering a caring and innovative culture that enables us to collectively grow and overcome challenges in a connected, collaborative, and mutually respectful environment that calls us to help Make Tomorrow Better.

Role Overview:

Could you be our next Sr. Software Developer III? Globe Life is looking for a Sr. Software Developer III to join the team!

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance across system applications while driving enhancements and designing scalable solutions throughout the full application lifecycle. You will serve as a technical expert making architectural decisions, ensuring quality, and bridging technical execution with business needs for both new and existing applications. You will also manage client relationships with a high sense of urgency, providing technical guidance and hands-on support across end-user, application, and cloud environments.

This is a hybrid position located in McKinney, TX. (WFH Monday & Friday, In Office Tuesday–Thursday).

What You Will Do:

Application Development

  • Design, build, and ship full-stack web applications from requirements through production release, owning quality, performance, and reliability throughout.
  • Build complex, data-driven, multi-user web applications that handle real-world load, concurrency, and security requirements.
  • Ensure web applications are maintainable, well-tested, well-documented, and built to last.
  • Take full ownership of features end-to-end: front-end UI, back-end API, data layer, and deployment.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability issues.
  • Participate in production support, diagnosing, triaging, and resolving application issues in live environments.

Front-End

  • Own the front-end architecture, making deliberate, well-reasoned decisions about component structure, state management, routing strategy, data fetching patterns, and build configuration.
  • Build production-quality Vue 3 applications using the Composition API, script setup syntax, composables, provide/inject, teleport, and advanced slot patterns.
  • Design and enforce a scalable, maintainable component library with reusable, well-documented, and prop-typed components that the team can build on confidently.
  • Write TypeScript across the entire front-end codebase, including strict mode, well-defined interfaces, generic types, utility types, and proper type narrowing.
  • Architect state management with a clear separation of state, getters, and actions, applying the right approach for each situation.
  • Configure and optimize Vite build pipelines, including code splitting, tree shaking, lazy-loaded routes, dynamic imports, chunk strategy, and bundle size analysis.
  • Build responsive, mobile-first UIs using modern CSS, including Flexbox, Grid, SCSS/SASS, CSS custom properties, and BEM or equivalent methodology.
  • Implement and enforce WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including semantic HTML, ARIA roles and attributes, keyboard navigation, focus management, and screen reader compatibility.
  • Own front-end performance, optimizing Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FID/INP), implementing lazy loading, virtual scrolling, debounce/throttle strategies, and memoization.
  • Handle complex client-side concerns including authentication flows (JWT, OAuth2, token refresh), route guards, role-based UI rendering, and secure token storage patterns.
  • Design robust API integration layers with interceptors, centralized error handling, retry logic, loading/error/empty states, and optimistic UI updates.
  • Write comprehensive front-end tests, including unit/component tests and end-to-end tests with Playwright or Cypress.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible, performant implementations.
  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and major mobile browsers.
  • Stay current with front-end tooling and web standards and bring forward-thinking recommendations to the team.

Back-End

  • Design and deliver full-stack features end-to-end, from front-end through .NET Core Web API.
  • Architect and implement RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API, including versioning, error handling, input validation, middleware pipelines, and security best practices.
  • Build and maintain back-end services using C# and .NET Core with clean architecture principles.
  • Implement authentication and authorization using JWT bearer tokens, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, and ASP.NET Core Identity.
  • Develop data access layers using Entity Framework Core and Dapper for performance-critical queries.
  • Design and optimize Microsoft SQL Server schemas, stored procedures, indexes, and T-SQL queries.
  • Implement background processing and messaging using Hangfire, AWS SQS, or Azure Service Bus.
  • Write clean, testable code and implement unit and integration tests as part of the development workflow.

DevOps & CI/CD

  • Own and continuously improve multi-stage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including build, automated testing, code quality gates, approval gates, and environment-specific releases.
  • Enforce Git best practices including branching strategy (GitFlow or trunk-based), pull request standards, code review quality, and release tagging.
  • Automate front-end and back-end testing and deployment processes within the pipeline.
  • Maintain Azure DevOps Boards and contribute to sprint planning and backlog refinement.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the front-end authority on the team, setting standards and guiding others through complex front-end challenges.
  • Lead code reviews with substantive, constructive feedback that elevates code quality and team capability.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, especially on front-end architecture, Vue 3 patterns, TypeScript, and performance.
  • Drive architecture and design discussions, creating technical specifications, component diagrams, and ADRs.
  • Partner with QA, DBAs, Business Analysts, and Product Owners throughout the full SDLC.
  • Proactively identify technical debt, propose remediation plans, and lead modernization efforts.
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

  • Proven ability to think beyond individual components, with experience contributing to system design, platform strategy, and broad technical direction.
