General Purpose:
Senior Desktop Specialist to support, troubleshoot, and continuously improve our Windows endpoint fleet. You'll be the go-to expert for our device management stack -- Windows Autopilot, Intune, and hybrid Azure AD (Entra ID) join -- and serve as the escalation point for complex identity and endpoint issues across a distributed, hybrid environment. This role blends hands-on technical support with process improvement: refining enrollment workflows, maintaining documentation, and mentoring junior team members.
Reports to (Supervisor/Manager): Director, IT Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain Windows Autopilot and Intune enrollment processes, including hardware hash import, bulk enrollment, and white-glove provisioning.
- Monitor hybrid Azure AD join health across the domain -- diagnosing and resolving MDM auto-enrollment failures, AD site/subnet mapping gaps, and stale registry enrollment states.
- Assist with fleet modernization efforts: converting existing images and machines to modern management via Autopilot Reset, task sequences, and reprovisioning workflows.
- Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, and on-prem Active Directory in a hybrid identity environment.
- Develop and maintain end-user-facing documentation and enrollment guides for company-wide rollouts.
- Partner with security and network teams to close infrastructure gaps affecting device compliance and identity sync.
- Provide escalation support for complex endpoint, identity, and Exchange Online issues.
- Recommend tooling and process improvements for endpoint lifecycle management at scale.
- Work well together in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration or desktop support, with deep focus on Windows endpoint management.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and hybrid Azure AD (Entra ID) join scenarios.
- Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP fundamentals as they relate to device enrollment.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Graph PowerShell for reporting and automation across Entra, Exchange Online, and device inventories.
- Solid understanding of Exchange Online administration, including mail flow, distribution groups, and dynamic group filters.
- Ability to diagnose infrastructure-level issues (e.g., missing AD site/subnet mappings, registry-level enrollment state) that affect fleet-wide device provisioning.
- Excellent documentation skills and comfort producing end-user-facing guides and internal runbooks.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work independently on ambiguous, multi-system problems.
