Position Overview
The Senior Desktop Engineer role is responsible for designing, building and supporting the MacOS and Windows 11 platforms. This role will be asked to focus on both project delivery as well as support and administration functions. This team is responsible for all infrastructure and operations of endpoint technologies that help Applied Systems, Inc. operate its software business.
What You'll Do
- Manage and maintain a large fleet of MacOS and Windows devices
- Manage Windows 11 within the Azure AVD and Windows 365 platform
- Package applications
- Secure operating system and ensure it functions properly with our security tooling and posture management solution
- Develop and maintain scripts using Bash, Python, and PowerShell for automation and system tuning
- Analyze data and logs to make informed decisions and improve system performance
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with company policies and standards
- Provide support and troubleshooting for desktop-related issues
- Stay current with new and emerging technologies, recommending products which could be beneficial to the company or team
- Maintains a thorough understanding of incident, problem, change, configuration, and asset management principles and able to apply best practices
We're Excited to Learn More About You
Your experience may include:
- Minimum of 10 years designing, building, and supporting desktop environments
- Experience in an environment which includes multiple sites including international locations
- Linux desktop administration preferred but not required
- Expert level knowledge managing MacOS devices with Jamf or Kandji
- Expert level knowledge of Intune
- Strong skills in application packaging and securing operating systems using an automation-first mindset
- Expert level proficiency in Bash or Python and PowerShell scripting
- Experience with Gitlab or other source control strongly preferred
- Experience in system tuning and performance optimization
- Familiarity with change control processes
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to base decisions on testing and log information
- Experience in a medium or large enterprise managing several thousand endpoints
- Significant experience with solution delivery from design through post project support
You may have other skills or credentials, including:
- Kandji Certified Admin
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- Apple Certified IT Professional

- Candidate will need to reside in North America Hybrid/Remote
