Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and review detailed design and Bill of material of centrifugal pumps and related components including sheet metal parts using Creo and Windchill
- Perform engineering calculations
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
- Support product testing and validation activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and internal design practices
- Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, and design standardization initiatives
Must have competencies:
- Experience in pump design / rotating equipment (mandatory)
- Proficiency in CAD tools (mandatory) for 3D modelling, assemblies, and detailing
- Hands-on experience in fits, tolerance, GD&T and stack-up analysis and ensuring functional performance of mechanical systems
- Experience in sheet metal design is advantageous
- Strong analytical and mechanical design skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to independently execute design tasks with minimal supervision
Good to have competencies:
- Knowledge of acoustic design and noise attenuation techniques
- Exposure to standards such as ISO, ASME, HI etc.
- Experience with pump testing and validation
- Familiarity with FEA/CFD tools
- Ability to Python-based design automation and optimization tools will be an added advantage
Technical Skills:
- Mechanical design of centrifugal pumps
- Understanding of prime movers i.e. electric motors and diesel engines
- Strong hands-on experience with CAD tools (Creo or equivalent)
- Proficiency in MS Excel for engineering calculations and data analysis
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
