Every day and in every way, we hold ourselves to an Honest standard. We believe that it is our responsibility to do our part to help create a healthy and sustainable future for all.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and execution-focused Interim Senior Demand Planner to support the Demand Planning function during a 6-month assignment. This role will partner closely with the Associate Director of Demand Planning and play a critical role in the preparation, analysis, and system execution of the full SIOP cycle. The individual must be able to quickly become operational in a fast-paced CPG environment where manual data preparation, cross-functional coordination, and system rigor are essential. This is not a leadership role of the Demand Planning function, but rather a highly analytical and executional role supporting the Associate Director.

Key Responsibilities

Full SIOP Cycle Preparation & Analytics

Support and execute the analytical preparation for all stages of the monthly SIOP process, including:

Data Gathering Phase

  • Statistical modeling with forecasting platform
  • Consolidate forecast inputs from Sales, Brand, and Finance
  • Validate baseline vs. brand adjustments
  • Review forecast changes vs. prior plan and AOP
  • Identify risks, gaps, and major demand shifts

Demand Review Preparation

  • Prepare analytical materials and data summaries
  • Highlight key drivers, risks, and opportunities
  • Support slide preparation and executive-ready materials

Supply Review Preparation

  • Ensure clean and timely demand signals for Supply Planning
  • Support scenario analysis when supply constraints arise
  • Validate alignment between demand and supply assumptions

Executive Consensus Meeting Preparation

  • Consolidate final forecast view
  • Support reconciliation between financial targets and demand plan
  • Prepare updated demand files post-alignment

This role owns the integrity and preparation of the demand data throughout the cycle.

Forecast Management & System Execution

  • Maintain SKU-level forecasts
  • Update approved Demand Plans in JDE
  • Ensure system accuracy and version control
  • Validate ERP outputs to prevent downstream supply disruption

System rigor and timeliness are critical success factors.

Demand Drivers Review & Validation

While this role does not own Demand Drivers strategy, responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing Sales and Brand submitted drivers
  • Verifying promotional assumptions, pricing impacts, distribution changes
  • Editing and adjusting inputs where inconsistencies are identified
  • Ensuring drivers reconcile to financial and volume targets
  • Maintaining structured Demand Driver tracking files

This requires strong analytical skepticism and attention to detail.

Manual Data Crunching & Reporting

Given current process maturity, this role will:

  • Manage significant manual Excel modeling
  • Maintain forecast consolidation files
  • Run variance analyses (Actuals vs. Forecast, vs. AOP)
  • Support inventory and service-level discussions

Advanced Excel capability is required.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner with Sales, Brand, and Finance to validate assumptions
  • Align closely with Supply Planning to ensure signal clarity
  • Support Finance with forecast-related questions
  • Provide analytical responses during SIOP discussions

SIOP Software Implementation Support

  • Support data mapping and validation for new SIOP platform
  • Participate in testing cycles
  • Ensure forecast continuity between manual and system processes
  • Identify data integrity gaps

This role will be instrumental in maintaining business continuity during system transition.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4-5 years of Demand Planning experience (CPG strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on SIOP process experience
  • Experience working in ERP systems (JDE preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivots, modeling, lookups, scenario building)
  • Experience working with promotional and distribution-driven businesses
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Ability to become operational quickly

Key Competencies

  • Structured and analytical
  • High execution discipline
  • Detail-oriented with system rigor
  • Strong cross-functional communication
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity during transition
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented
  • Analytical, disciplined, and immediately operational in a complex planning environment.

Compensation

The range for this role is $43 - $53/hour. Actual compensation is based on many factors including but not limited to depth of experience, skill level, ability, knowledge, education, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
