Working for the Head of ETL Services reporting into the Head of Data Technology organization, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise level data products for business analytics and AI that provide a single view of the Guardian customer and enable state of the art data access patterns by utilizing a disciplined software development methodology and leading-edge technologies. We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic data technology team whose vision committed to leveraging data-driven insights to drive innovation and company growth through data products and ensure the data reliability, integrity, and efficiency of our data pipelines for business analytics and AI.
A self-starter who is fueled by collaboration, able to transform conceptual designs into reliable, scalable processes that meet or exceed customer needs.
You have
- 12+ Years of IT experience in working with data, building data pipelines and data management or similar role more focused on data observability and reliability.
- 4+ years of experience in data reliability engineer (DRE) role in creating observability, reliability and data quality frameworks using Collibra Data Quality and Observability/Monte Carlo/Splunk.
- 3+ years of experienced in handling incident management, response, resolutions and metrics, it plays crucial role for handling data related incidents, RCA, engaging preventive fixes for maintaining data reliability and trust.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and technologies such as Informatica PowerCenter, Cloud, precisely connect ETL (Not mandatory).
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering using Python, Pyspark and Databricks, Shell scripting (MUST).
- Experienced in leveraging automation tools, automation scripts, techniques to streamline data operations, alerting data pipelines and optimize performance.
- DRE must have good knowledge on RDBMS, Programming, Big data technologies, DevOps and automation tools, Site reliability engineering (SRE) principles, Networking, Cloud computing, CI/CD version control, and Security best practices.
- Experience technical mentor for defining, creating data pipeline standards, code reviews to ensure code quality with efficiency, scalable and sustainable for better reliability.
- Experience in production support/data operations in monitor production jobs, triage issues working with appropriate team for root cause analysis & resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- A DRE needs to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including enterprise data analytics team, data engineers, data scientists, various IT teams, data governance and business stakeholders. Communicate effectively to understand the data requirements of different stakeholders and ensure that data observability and reliability align with organizational goals on gaining data trust.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills.
You will
- Responsible to prevent data-related incidents, minimize data downtime, improve data pipelines processes and efficiency.
- Enforce standards, data privacy, security regulation, change control process data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and implement data quality monitoring frameworks to detect anomalies, errors, and inconsistencies in the data pipeline.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design scalable solutions to meet business needs.
- Working with data governance management team and provide technical solutions around DG policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Optimize data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability through automation, monitoring, and tuning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to data workflows.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools to continuously improve data pipeline architecture and efficiency.
- Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of data reliability, quality, and innovation within the organization.
- Continue to look for innovative and next generation solutions for solving data challenges.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines for analytics and AI applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on data quality and reliability.
Location
- Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, PA with work from home flexibility
- Up to 10% travel within the NY/NJ/PA locations
Salary Range$91,260.00 - $149,925.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
