It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work onsite for three (3) or more days a week and will have a dedicated workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Summary of the Job:

 

The Senior Data Analyst plays a crucial role in identifying, designing, and developing data analytic routines to support audit activities performed by the Corporate Audit Services team. This position is responsible for creating repeatable data analytics to support continuous audit monitoring programs and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal audit function through innovative data analysis techniques.

About This Role:

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the Data Analytics for the department, identifying new opportunities to leverage analytics in audit processes
  • Generate ideas for the use of data analytics and encourage audit team members to achieve their audit objectives by proactively brainstorming and engaging in planning activities
  • Develop and maintain recurring analytic and reporting processes to support audit planning, execution, and monitoring activities
  • Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements required for analytics, applying professional skepticism when assessing data sources
  • Validate the completeness and accuracy of data received for analysis
  • Manage data extraction, storage, transformation, and processing through data analytics tools and generate output for visualization/analysis by the Audit team
  • Implement and maintain continuous monitoring techniques to proactively identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Create accurate and insightful reports, summaries, and dashboards that assess process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Deliver regular reporting and analysis documentation and present findings and test results

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics techniques and tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI, Arbutus)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or similar tools is preferred
  • Working knowledge of internal controls, auditing techniques, and general IT controls
  • Basic knowledge of banking operations, financial services industry, and applicable regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Awareness of latest trends in data analytics for audit applications
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3-5 years of relevant data analytics experience in audit, financial, risk management, or technology functions
  • Experience building and supporting continuous audit monitoring programs
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI, Arbutus)
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational processes within banking or financial services

CERTIFICATIONS

Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or related certification is preferred but not required

Compensation:

 

Compensation range (base pay): $80,061.00-$132,099.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
