PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $125,700.00-$153,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $97,400.00 - $181,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As a Sr Commercial Portfolio Manager at BECU, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the financial well-being of our business members. Your expertise in credit analysis and relationship management will directly impact the success of our commercial loan portfolio—including complex Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) credits. You’ll serve as a trusted partner to internal teams and members alike, bringing thoughtful insights, sound recommendations, and solutions that protect BECU’s interests while supporting local businesses. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to reside in Washington State. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead Credit Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse portfolio of business loans, completing thorough annual reviews, credit extensions, and supporting new credit requests with confidence and accuracy.
- Deliver Strategic Credit Analysis: Use your expertise to underwrite new relationship credits and analyze financial data, making informed recommendations that guide BECU’s credit decisions.
- Strengthen Member Relationships: Partner with Relationship Managers, borrowers, and legal teams to support members through complex lending scenarios and navigate credit challenges with care.
- Provide Risk and Credit Recommendations: Assess and recommend appropriate risk ratings, pricing, and loan structures to safeguard BECU’s financial interests while supporting our members’ success.
- Guide Legal and Documentation Processes: Collaborate with attorneys and financial professionals to ensure each loan is structured with clarity and accuracy.
- Mentor and Share Expertise: Serve as a resource to the Business Services team, offering mentorship, technical guidance, and consultative support across various lending scenarios.
- Negotiate with Confidence: Within your credit authority, negotiate credit terms, collateral requirements, and repayment methods that are mutually beneficial and aligned with BECU’s standards.
- Stay Ahead of Industry Standards: Keep up to date with commercial lending regulations and best practices to maintain compliance and contribute to continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work or educational experience.
- Typically requires 7+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) analysis, underwriting, and relationship management.
- Typically requires 7+ years of experience using financial tools for spreading statements, cash flow modeling, and risk evaluation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a business-related discipline.
- Advanced understanding of credit policies, financial analysis, and commercial lending documentation.
- Strong familiarity with BECU’s commercial lending policies and credit risk systems.
