We are currently seeking a Sr. Cloud Developer to join our Supply Chain Technologies & Products team based in our New York, New York headquarters.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, prototype, and deploy scalable software solutions to address evolving business needs
- Develop and maintain high-performance systems for managing and analyzing tens of thousands of video assets, associated components, and functional pipelines
- Create event driven integrations/processing using cloud-native serverless architecture like AWS Lambda and messaging for asynchronous, cost-effective, and infinitely scalable operations
- Provide technical leadership by driving innovation, evaluating new technologies, and contributing to long-term strategic planning
- Interfacing and integrating AI Large Language & Embedding Models from major companies (OpenAI, Amazon) to address business-related queries
- Troubleshoot and enhance legacy business systems, implementing upgrades and performance improvements
- Develop full-stack web applications using PHP, SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, and HTML, while leveraging AWS services such as S3, Media Convert, Batch, AWS MQ, SQS and SNS
- Utilize command-line video tools like FFMPEG for video processing, analysis, and editing
- Provide technical support to internal teams, resolving issues that impact operations and workflow
- Oversee operational performance and quality assurance across multiple video and advertising platforms
- Perform analysis and translate functional specifications/business requirements into technical specifications and logical system processes. Evaluate different approaches and technologies, propose elegant technical solutions
- Provide accurate estimates and deliverable dates
- Perform advanced video and audio analysis using FFmpeg, including metadata extraction, automated quality assessment, format conversions, and performance optimizations for large-scale media processing
- Function as an integral part of a technical team
- Ensure that all developed components are properly documented
- Stay current with evolving technology trends and make recommendations for the introduction of appropriate new technologies into application stack
- The Senior Cloud Developer is responsible for the successful implementation and operation of business systems that support the company. The efficient operation of these systems provides the company with a sound basis to grow and decrease operational expenses
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Must possess a full understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management or customer
- Proven analytical ability to find creative solutions to functional business processes
- Experienced in the implementation of major business applications
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Must be highly organized and detailed oriented
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience with multiple development platforms such as PHP, Javascript, Java, Python
- Experience in developing within cloud-based architectures such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Understanding of relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
- Deep understanding of asynchronous messaging systems and event-based architecture patterns
- Ability to utilize AWS S3 and MediaConvert to create video proxies
- Ability to manipulate and analyze video files using scripted tools (FFmpeg)
- LLM & AI experience is a plus
The base compensation range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 commensurate with experience. AMC Networks additionally offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave and Adoption Services, among other benefit plan options, subject to eligibility requirements.
