Primary Purpose:

The Senior Product Manager, Clinical Solutions sits at the intersection of science, business, and customer engagement, with responsibility for shaping portfolio strategy for assigned clinical diagnostic products, service lines, and market segments. The Senior Product Manager identifies growth opportunities, influences development decisions, and partners across medical, scientific, operational, commercial, and executive stakeholders to bring innovative diagnostic solutions to market.

Key areas of collaboration include Medical Directorship, Research and Development, Technical Operations, Business Development, and other cross-functional partners needed to support product strategy, development, launch, adoption, and ongoing portfolio performance.

Essential Functions:

Strategic Portfolio Leadership

Lead cross-functional stakeholders in the creation and execution of portfolio strategy, priorities, and long-term growth objectives

Own the  lifecycle management of a clinical product portfolio from concept through commercialization and optimization

Identify emerging market opportunities, unmet customer needs, and adjacent growth areas that strengthen ARUP's competitive position

Develop data-driven business cases, opportunity assessments, and development recommendations that influence organizational priorities

Market Intelligence and Customer Insights

Serve as the market and customer expert for a clinical domain, acquiring deep knowledge of customer needs, industry trends, competitive dynamics, reimbursement changes, and emerging technologies

Translate market insights into product requirements that guide R&D, medical director, and operational decision making

Synthesize customer, financial, scientific, and market intelligence into actionable product strategies

Build compelling, evidence-based recommendations that drive strategic decisions

Commercial Strategy and Business Ownership

Lead commercial planning and execution for product launches and significant enhancements, working cross-functionally to create portfolio business plans, forecasting and financial modeling, pricing strategy, and growth planning 

Evaluate the commercial viability of new products, technologies, partnerships, and innovation opportunities

Partner with Business Development, Sales, Medical Directorship, and Technical Operations leadership to prioritize opportunities and optimize market impact

Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, customer adoption, and market share

Cross-Functional Leadership 

Lead complex initiatives across Medical Directorship, R&D, Technical Operations, sales, marketing, revenue management, and executive stakeholders

Build alignment across diverse teams while balancing scientific, operational, financial, and customer priorities

Influence decisions at all levels of the organization through strong business cases, storytelling, and relationship-building

Act as the connective link between scientific innovation and commercial success

Product Marketing and Sales Enablement

Own positioning, working with Corporate Marketing & PR on messaging and go-to-market strategy for your portfolio

Translate complex diagnostic science into compelling value propositions that resonate with clinicians, laboratories, healthcare systems, and payer audiences

Collaborate with Corporate Marketing & PR to develop sales enablement tools, customer-facing content, competitive intelligence, and educational resources that accelerate adoption

Partner with commercial teams and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to build awareness, advocacy, and market momentum  

Physical and Other Requirements:

Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.

PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies. 

ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  

Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Qualifications Education Required Bachelor's Degree or better. Preferred Master's Degree or better. Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field 5-7 years of progressive experience in product management, product marketing, portfolio management, or go-to-market leadership Experience within diagnostics, reference laboratories, life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, or a closely related healthcare field Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders in complex, matrixed organizations Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and analytical problem-solving skills Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling business narratives Proven experience evaluating market opportunities, building business cases, and influencing investment decisions Strong customer orientation and ability to uncover actionable insights from market and customer feedback Preferred MBA, MS, MPH, PhD, or other advanced business, scientific, or healthcare-related degree Direct experience working in a reference laboratory, molecular diagnostics, pathology, precision medicine, or clinical laboratory environment Understanding of CLIA, laboratory operations, and the diagnostic test development lifecycle Experience with upstream and downstream product marketing Financial modeling, forecasting, and pricing strategy experience Experience using Tableau, Power BI, AI-enabled analytics platforms, or similar business intelligence tools Working knowledge of how AI can improve business decision-making, customer engagement, and operational effectiveness Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities

Skills Required

  • Master's degree or higher
  • MBA, MS, MPH, PhD, or another advanced business, scientific, or healthcare-related degree
  • Experience in a reference laboratory, molecular diagnostics, pathology, precision medicine, or clinical laboratory environment
  • Understanding of CLIA, laboratory operations, and the diagnostic test development lifecycle
  • Experience with upstream and downstream product marketing
  • Financial modeling, forecasting, and pricing strategy experience
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, AI-enabled analytics platforms, or similar business intelligence tools
  • Working knowledge of AI applications in business decision-making, customer engagement, and operational effectiveness
