The Business Operations (BizOps) team shapes strategy, drives cross-functional execution, and delivers insights that accelerate decision-making and impact.

We’re hiring a Sr. Business Operations Associate to work across teams on high-priority initiatives. In this role, you’ll partner with senior BizOps leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex problems, lead strategic projects, surface actionable insights, and build systems that help Zapier move faster and operate more effectively.

We’re looking for a sharp, end-to-end problem solver who can shape your work to maximize impact, shift between strategy and execution, and drive meaningful progress across teams. You bring a systems mindset, thrive in ambiguity, and proactively shape outcomes, not just execute tasks. You’ll also leverage AI and automation to test ideas and continuously improve how we work.

About You
  • You’re a business-minded generalist with 4+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, consulting, strategic finance, or a similar analytical role.

  • You think in terms of impact. You identify high-leverage opportunities, prioritize effectively, and sequence work to maximize outcomes. As conditions change, you adapt quickly, surface risks early, and keep stakeholders focused on what matters most.

  • You’re comfortable in ambiguity. You bring structure to open-ended problems, define clear approaches, and drive toward concrete outcomes without waiting for perfect clarity.

  • You have strong systems judgment. You connect dots across teams, get to root causes, and design durable solutions—not just one-off fixes.

  • You’re fluent with AI and automation. You use tools like Zapier, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and others to explore ideas, analyze data, pressure-test thinking, and move faster.

  • You operate with ownership. You’re comfortable driving cross-functional work forward, influencing without authority, and making reasoned decisions with imperfect information.

  • You’re resourceful and action-oriented. You ask sharp questions, self-serve data, and translate insights into clear recommendations that drive action.

  • You communicate with purpose. Your writing and stakeholder communication are clear, concise, and tailored to your audience.

  • Bonus (not required, but nice to have):

  • You operated effectively in high-growth SaaS or technology environments. You bring pattern recognition from fast-scaling companies and apply it to evolving operational challenges.

  • You partnered directly with senior leaders and executives. You have experience navigating high-stakes projects and communicating at the highest levels to influence strategic decisions.

  • You’ve worked across multiple functions. You connected dots across teams from different domains and used cross-functional context to shape stronger, more integrated solutions.

  • You have a clear POV on how AI can reshape business. You’ve translated emerging capabilities into practical applications that create leverage and improve how teams operate.

Things You'll Do

In this role, you'll flex across strategy and execution to help the team and the company move faster and smarter. You'll lead initiatives that span multiple functions, require strong analytical thinking, and demand crisp communication.

While projects will vary, past Sr. Business Operations Associates have led high-impact initiatives such as:

  • Building and operationalizing our first customer migration program

  • Developing and executing strategies to address unauthorized resellers

  • Leading end-to-end customer policy change management

You’ll manage multiple projects concurrently, typically within the same domain, over a 1–2 quarter horizon before transitioning to new initiatives or supporting additional areas.

Zapier is a fast-paced, remote-first company. No two weeks will look exactly the same, but you’ll regularly:

  • Lead or support high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from early problem framing through strategy, planning, and execution.

  • Use AI, data, and research to shape decisions. Build prototypes, generate insights, and frame recommendations that influence direction, investment, and prioritization.

  • Design and implement operating models within your project scope, including alignment rituals, ownership structures, and goal tracking to drive clarity and accountability.

  • Write high-quality communications, including executive summaries, strategy docs, and updates, that clarify priorities and accelerate decision-making.

  • Partner with leaders and teams to facilitate decisions, navigate trade-offs, and unblock execution across critical initiatives.

  • Improve how we work by evolving playbooks, streamlining collaboration models, and experimenting with new ways of driving effectiveness.
