We’re actively seeking talented Sr. Business Analysts to join our Operations Transformation team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. As a Sr. Business Analyst you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by bringing an outcome focused perspective to the delivery of Annuity and Life Insurance New Business process and technology solutions for our Operations teams. You will partner with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, technology and delivery teams to gather, document, validate, and support the delivery of business needs.  This role focuses on execution, coordination, and quality, ensuring that requirements are documented and accurately reflected in process/activity models, technical deliverables and tested solutions. 

The salary grade for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

 

How you’ll help move us forward: 

Business Requirements & Documentation 

  • Partner with SMEs and domain leaders to gather and document business requirements under guidance from senior team members, Product Owners, or Technology Leads. 

  • Develop and maintain clear requirement artifacts, including epics, features, and supporting documentation. 

  • Review IT-authored user stories and tasks to confirm alignment with documented business requirements. 

  • Assist in identifying use cases and functional impacts across systems and processes. 

Solution Delivery Support 

  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and Technology Lead to understand solution scope, dependencies, and delivery sequencing. 

  • Support identification of delivery teams and solution components required to implement approved requirements. 

  • Participate in business validation of solution designs to confirm requirements are addressed. 

  • Contribute to RFP support activities by helping document requirements, use cases, and evaluation materials as requested. 

Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans and test cases to validate that solutions meet documented requirements. 

  • Coordinate UAT activities with business and technology stakeholders. 

  • Track, manage, and communicate UAT defects, issues, and retesting status through resolution. 

  • Support ongoing quality alignment between business expectations and technology delivery. 

Change & Business Readiness Support 

  • Contribute to business communication, change management, training, and procedure update materials. 

  • Assist in ensuring business readiness by validating requirements, test outcomes, and user impacts. 

  • Communicate effectively with crossfunctional partners to surface risks, issues, or gaps. 

 

The experience you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 

  • Demonstrated experience in a Business Analyst or similar role supporting Annuity and Life Insurance New Business technology-enabled initiatives 

  • Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements with stakeholder input. 

  • Hands-on experience supporting UAT planning, execution, and issue tracking. 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and dependencies. 

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 

Base salary ranges for Sr. Business Analyst 114A depending on location

Newport Beach - $103,140 - $126,060

Omaha - $89,010 - $108,790

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
