This role is part of the Platform Engineering team reporting to the Director of Production Operations. This person should have a deep understanding of Platform Engineering principles and will collaborate with all business teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate those requirements into actionable projects. A successful candidate in this role will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of our infrastructure initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering high-quality solutions. This person knows the fundamentals of the business intelligence function, and has a basic understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications and project plans
  • Lead and manage Platform Engineering projects from inception to completion, driving a balance of high quality and timely delivery
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to design, implement, and optimize scalable infrastructure solutions
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment of project goals and deadlines
  • Conduct regular project status updates, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in our internal processes
  • Support the development of automated tools and processes to enhance platform performance and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in security, scalability, and reliability

Requirements:

  •  4+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or similar role in a technical environment
  • Technical background with a strong understanding of Platform Engineering, cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proactive, Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for continuous learning and improvement

Additional Pluses, but Not Requirements:

  • Experience with Ruby, Python, SQL, Terraform, GitHub Actions and/or Kubeflow
  • Experience with fintech platforms and technologies
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working within SOC2 / PCI compliance requirements
  • Excellent technical understanding of modern web application development practices
  • Passion for security, observability, and failover
