Position Description
We are seeking an Senior Business Analyst based in Hong Kong to provide business analysis support for new projects within the Derivatives business. The role will focus on collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, documenting and preparing specifications, and supporting system enhancements and implementations. The successful candidate will have prior BA experience in a financial or banking environment, with a working knowledge of derivatives, and the ability to work closely with technology and business teams to deliver effective system solutions.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs and propose suitable solutions.
Translate gathered requirements into detailed specifications and collaborate effectively with developers to deliver appropriate solutions.
Document and maintain functional requirements and design specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Define testing strategies and conduct thorough SIT for new features and enhancements, as well as co-ordinate UAT.
Communicate changes in processes or systems to relevant stakeholders, ensuring proper follow-up and support.
Identify and escalate risks while proposing both tactical and strategic solutions to mitigate these risks and provide business support.
Perform administrative and coordination tasks to help ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor degree or higher in IT, Computer Science or related
5- 8 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role within a banking, finance, or related technology environment.
Experience supporting system-related projects from requirements gathering through to implementation.
Exposure to or knowledge of derivatives products.
Good communication and writing skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin is a plus)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail
Ability to work independently under guidance from senior BAs or project managers.
Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, or scripting languages is an advantage.
Knowledge of Prime brokerage or OTC Options is beneficial but not essential.
Past experience with Calypso or similar order/trade management systems is a plus.
