Position Overview

Zelis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Azure to join our Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations team. This role will primarily focus on designing, building, and modernizing cloud platforms, while collaborating with operations teams responsible for ongoing support.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in multi-cloud environments, containerization, and migrating workloads from on-premises data centers to Azure cloud. This role requires a critical thinker who can design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions. You will work closely with platform and operations teams to deliver robust, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

·       Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and platforms across Azure and AWS.

·       Design and Architect mission-critical, highly available, and resilient production workloads on Azure/AWS, ensuring scalability, security, operational excellence.

·       Drive application modernization initiatives, considering 6R categories.

·       Lead and execute end-to-end cloud migration strategies from on-premise to AWS/Azure, including assessment, architecture design, and execution.

·       Build and standardize infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks using Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation to enable repeatable & scalable provisioning.

·       Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, enabling automated, secure, and scalable application and infrastructure deployments.

·       Collaborate with platform and operations teams to ensure high availability and reliability.

·       Design and implement AI-driven and intelligent automation solutions to optimize cloud operations, monitoring, and platform efficiency.

·       Implement and enforce cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks, including IAM, network security, and policy management.

·       Implement observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure proactive incident detection and system reliability.

·       Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

·       8+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering (Azure & AWS)

·       Strong expertise in:

o   Microsoft Azure

o   Amazon Web Services (AWS)

o   Containerization

·       Proven experience with:

o   GitHub Actions / DevOps for CI/CD Automation

·       Hands-on experience in:

o   Cloud migration (on-prem to Cloud preferred)

o   Application modernization

·       Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

o   Terraform / CDK / CloudFormation

·       Strong understanding of:

o   Networking, IAM, cloud security, and governance

·       AI Adoption:

o   OpenAI

o   Amazon Bedrock

o   ChatGPT

o   Github Co-Pilot

·       Scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience working in multi-cloud environments

·       Exposure to platform engineering concepts

·       Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)

·       Relevant certifications:

o   Azure Solutions Architect

o   AWS Solutions Architect

o   Azure/AWS DevOps Engineer

·       Experience in enterprise-scale cloud environments
