As a Proposal Creation Specialist in our Connected Sales & Marketing function, you will get the opportunity to craft compelling, client-focused proposal narratives that showcase our firm's tax, audit, and advisory capabilities to prospective clients. Working within the Sales Excellence Team, you'll translate our offerings into clear value propositions, collaborate with subject matter experts to develop winning content, and support the full proposal lifecycle from qualification to submission. From day one, you'll be empowered by our extensive knowledge resources, industry insights, and collaborative technology platforms to create proposals that differentiate our firm and drive business growth.
Your Day-to-Day May Include:
- Managing the end-to-end proposal development process from initial request intake through content creation to final delivery, with focus on supporting strategic pursuits in the Technology industry on the West Coast. Ability to work West Coast hours is required
- Collaborating with business development teams and subject matter experts to understand client needs, and craft tailored value propositions focused on winning strategies
- Developing compelling executive summaries, approach methodologies, and solution narratives that address specific client challenges
- Curating and customizing professional biographies, case studies, and qualification statements that showcase relevant expertise
- Researching industry trends, competitive positioning, and market insights to enhance proposal messaging and differentiation
- Incorporating AI tools into day-to-day proposal development activities to accelerate research, draft and refine content, summarize source materials, and improve workflow efficiency while applying sound judgment and quality review
- Coordinating with pricing specialists to integrate fee structures and scope descriptions that align with proposed solutions
- Ensuring quality control through rigorous editing, formatting, and compliance with firm brand standards and proposal requirements
- Managing multiple proposal projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Maintaining and continuously improving proposal content libraries, templates, and best practice resources
- Supporting proposal review sessions and incorporating feedback from stakeholders to strengthen final deliverables
- Other duties as assigned
You Have the Following Technical Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, English, or related field
- 2-4 years of experience in proposal writing, content development, or similar roles, preferably in professional services
- Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and quality
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive content
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Experience with proposal automation software or content management systems preferred
- Experience using AI-enabled tools as part of daily work, including drafting, editing, summarizing, research support, content optimization, and productivity enhancement
- Strong project management capabilities with ability to prioritize competing demands
- Knowledge of professional services industry offerings and competitive landscape
- Exceptional collaborative skills with ability to work effectively across functions and geographies
- Outstanding communication abilities with experience coordinating with onshore teams
- Commitment to continuous improvement and eagerness to stay current on industry trends
- Can travel as needed
The base salary range for this position is between $72,000 and $100,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.
