The Sr. Analyst for the ISS Life Sales Desk team is an entry point into a sales-focused career within Nationwide’s life insurance business. Selected candidates will begin with a 3-month paid, in-house training program to build foundational knowledge in sales, products, and industry licensing requirements.

Upon successful completion of training and obtaining required licenses, you will transition into a client-facing sales support role, where your primary responsibility is to introduce financial professionals to Nationwide’s products and value proposition.

In this position, you will work closely with experienced internal and external wholesalers to:

  • Develop and grow relationships with financial professionals

  • Support territory sales strategies and pipeline management

  • Provide product positioning and case support

  • Contribute to achieving overall sales goals as a registered broker-dealer representative

Role requires FINRA SIE, Series 6, and Series 63 licensing within 120 days

As a Sr. Analyst, Life Territory Development, you'll complete a 3-month paid in house training program and learn how to be an effective sales associate. Once fully licensed you will begin to introduce financial professionals to Nationwide and our product offerings. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career and partner with experienced wholesalers to support the business unit sales goals as a registered broker dealer rep.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Proactively builds relationships with prospective financial professionals by introducing Nationwide Life Insurance and Long-Term Care Products to qualified, warm leads. Partners with financial professionals to understand their business needs and consult on how Nationwide solutions may fit their portfolios.  

  • Identifies distribution opportunities and creates successful transitions in partnership with their Internal and External wholesalers. 

  • Performs analysis by creating hypotheticals and other support materials requested by financial professionals, including life comparison analysis, portfolio mapping, fund analysis and Morningstar reports. 

  • Partners with Internal and External wholesalers to maintain territory pipelines and other sales management reports. 

  • Develops professionally through sales training, coaching sessions and mentorship with Senior Territory Development Consultants and Wholesalers. 

  • Achieves scorecard requirements such as activity and quality metrics, product knowledge, development of territory, teamwork and professional development. 

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Supervisor or Manager and does not have direct reports. 

 

Typical Skills and Experiences:   

 

EducationUndergraduate degree in finance, sales, business, marketing or related fields preferred. 

 

License/Certification/Designation: Successful completion of in-house training program, FINRA SIE, Series 6, and Series 63  licenses 120 days post-hire is required. 

 

ExperienceRelevant industry or sales experience preferred. 

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proven knowledge of insurance products and the sales process preferred. Motivated self-starter with a drive for results, proven independent judgment and decision-making. Ability for relationship building, positive outlook, consultative selling/advising skills, ability and willingness to follow processes, good time management/organization skills, be receptive to coaching, have a strong customer focus, ability to balance multiple priorities and have sophisticated communication skills including professional presence, listening, rapport building, writing skills and presentation abilities. 

 

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.  

 

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

The national salary range for Sr. Analyst, Territory Development - Life : $46,345.00-$82,000.00

The expected starting salary range for Sr. Analyst, Territory Development - Life : $46,345.00 - $66,000.00
