What You Will Work On

As the Sr Analyst Supply Chain Optimization, you will serve as a key partner in shaping how product moves through Academy's domestic and international supply chain network. You will analyze freight flow, identify operational constraints, and use data-driven insights to improve service levels, cost efficiency, and predictability across transportation and distribution activities. Leveraging Transportation Management Systems, reporting tools, and cross-functional collaboration, you will help ensure inventory reaches the right place at the right time.

In this role, you will lead optimization initiatives that connect Merchandising, Transportation, Distribution Center Operations, Finance, and Technology teams. You will develop forecasts, performance dashboards, scenario models, and planning frameworks that support business decisions and network performance. Your work will directly influence operational efficiency, carrier relationships, process improvements, and long-term supply chain effectiveness.

Who You Will Work With

You will collaborate daily with transportation carriers, third-party logistics partners, Distribution Center leaders, Merchandising teams, Finance partners, and Technology stakeholders. Success in this role depends on building strong partnerships, aligning priorities across functions, and communicating insights that support effective decision-making.

You will also work closely with operational teams to validate assumptions, uncover opportunities, support system enhancements, and drive adoption of new tools and processes. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to influence strategic supply chain decisions while partnering with leaders across the organization.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Distribution or Logistics or equivalent years of experience preferred. High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5+ years of logistics, inventory management and transportation experience

  • Demonstrated experience improving vendor performance, supporting compliance programs, or contributing to upstream supply chain improvements

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Transportation, Finance, IT, and DC Operations

  • Strong understanding of TMS, ERP, and related supply chain systems

  • Process optimization expertise and ability to identify opportunities for efficiency gains

  • Experience building KPIs, dashboards, models, and performance reports

  • Strong presentation and communication skills across all organizational levels

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills with familiarity in Access

  • Experience supporting change management and process adoption

  • A team-first attitude; while your core duties are your priority, you're happy to step in wherever you're needed

Work Style & Physical Requirements

  • Requires on-call availability after hours, Monday through Friday, including some weekends and holidays

  • Ability to analyze large datasets and make sound business recommendations

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and external partners

  • Regular in-office attendance is required

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

  • Ability to adhere to company policies and professional standards
