We are currently looking for a Senior Account Executive, Public & Government Affairs to join our team in Berlinat the earliest possible date.
Senior Account Executives support the development of client strategies, monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments, manage workstreams and project components, and draft position papers and policy submissions. They are responsible for research and monitoring activities that support new business development and thought leadership initiatives. Reporting to an Account Manager, Senior Account Executives are a key driver of our team’s success.
What you can expect
- Independently manage client workstreams and project components.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of multiple client account workstreams in close collaboration with Account Managers.
- Independently draft position papers, policy briefs, stakeholder briefings, and other core Public Affairs materials.
- Conduct in-depth research and prepare reports that translate complex issues into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate closely with other Edelman Germany practices, particularly our Public Affairs teams in Brussels, London, and Washington, D.C.
- Support the development of thought leadership content and political analyses.
- Monitor and analyze legislative processes and political developments at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Represent Edelman’s Public & Government Affairs practice at industry and networking events in Berlin’s political community.
- Contribute actively to the continued growth and development of Edelman’s Public & Government Affairs practice in Germany.
What we’re looking for
- At least two years of demonstrated success in Public Affairs, ideally gained within a Public Affairs consultancy, a parliamentary office, a government ministry, or an NGO.
- A Master’s degree.
- Proven or developing expertise in the policy and regulatory landscape of a specific sector or geographic region.
- A proactive mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a consistently positive attitude.
- A strong interest in and deep understanding of global geopolitical developments or specific regional policy issues.
- Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to independently lead project components and communicate effectively with clients and senior stakeholders via phone, email, and in person.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- A collaborative, results-oriented approach, with the ability to establish efficient processes and work effectively in teams.
- Outstanding writing and editorial skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and high-quality content.
- Strong digital literacy, including experience using digital and social media tools to support Public Affairs activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
