Job Description:
- Responsible for routine testing, analysis, characterization for Solstice thermal interface materials, phase change materials, PE wax/emulsion/micro-powder, PCTFE and LBA foam, fiber, refrigerant and fine chemicals products.
- Develop and improve analytical and characterization methods to meet the growing needs of local and global R&D activities, customer support and business expansion.
- Provide solid lab data and comprehensive report to support Solstice sales, technical service and NPI, work closely with global analytical, technical, procurement and ISC teams for customer issue resolution, sourcing qualification and manufacturing supports.
- Keep up with latest development of analytical technologies and timely introduce new analytical capabilities, actively disclose the innovation and convert into IP.
- Build timely and efficient outsourcing service to minimize capability gap with cost saving.
- Take lab operation management including HSE, LIMS, SPC, Total Protective Maintenance (TPM), chemicals, capitol plan and expense budget.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of lab experience, majoring in polymer chemistry and physics, material engineering, analytical or applied chemistry, PhD degree with 3+ yrs experience is preferred.
- Adequate analytical and characterization experiences in industries of TIM, PCM, SemiCon, fluoro-polymer, foam, fiber, plastic, coating and chemicals. Familiar with ASTM, GB, DIN, ISO standard and methods for the above industries.
- Understand the process of PE wax, PCM, foam, plastic, coating and fluoro-polymerization in R&D, scale-up andproduction.
- Skilled in thermal analysis (TGA, DSC, STA, TG-GC/MS, TG-FTIR), mechanical testing (TMA, DMA, tensile, compressive, flexural and peeling etc.), rheology (rotational, oscillation and capillary), spectrometry (Micro FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis and XRD), morphology (SEM/EDX, TEM, AFM and XPS) and other properties testing in viscosity , hardness, color, transmittance, thermal conductivity and resistance, etc. understanding the typically chemical analysis techniques as GC, GC-MS and elemental analysis.
- Good inter-personal communication and presentation skills, fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Strong ability of learning new and quick problem solving.
- Teamwork, customer focus and result driven. Ability to work under pressure and self-motivated.

Skills Required

- Experience with spectrometry and morphology techniques (Micro FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, XRD, SEM/EDX, TEM, AFM, XPS) and chemical analysis (GC, GC-MS, elemental analysis)
- Experience in developing and improving analytical/characterization methods and converting innovations into IP
- Lab operation management experience including HSE, LIMS, SPC, TPM, chemical management, capital planning and budgeting
- Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin; strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong learning ability, quick problem solving, teamwork, customer focus, results-driven and able to work under pressure
