What You Will Do

We're hiring a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support the industrialization of next-generation energy storage technologies across the Americas region, including Lithium-Ion, Sodium-Ion, Ultracapacitors, and other future energy solutions. This highly visible role is part of the Advanced Manufacturing organization and plays a critical role in bringing new products from concept to production.

Working closely with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, and external equipment suppliers, you will lead the development and launch of advanced manufacturing processes, assembly equipment, and production lines. This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in innovation, capital project execution, and manufacturing excellence while helping shape the future of energy storage technologies.

What Does Success Look Like

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing projects from concept through launch, ensuring equipment and processes are production-ready and meet program timing requirements.

  • Develop technical specifications, capital budgets, project timelines, and manufacturing concepts for prototype and mass production assembly lines.

  • Manage capital projects, equipment suppliers, installation activities, and facility layouts to ensure successful project execution and operational readiness.

  • Drive Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) collaboration with Product Engineering to optimize product designs for scalability, automation, quality, and cost.

  • Develop and maintain APQP deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, DFAMs, control plans, and process documentation.

  • Lead equipment validation and manufacturing readiness activities through MQ2 and program launch milestones.

  • Resolve technical and supplier quality issues while driving continuous improvement and standardization across global NPI initiatives.

  • Support pilot manufacturing operations through process development, work instructions, process controls, and troubleshooting activities.

What We Look For

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Experience leading capital equipment projects and manufacturing process development for new product launches.

  • Proven experience managing capital equipment projects, vendor relationships, and manufacturing line launches.

  • Strong knowledge of APQP methodologies, PFMEA development, process validation, and advanced quality systems.

  • Experience collaborating with product engineering teams on Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) initiatives.

Technical Skills

  • Experience developing technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment and assembly systems.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to analyze technical data and drive solutions independently.

  • Ability to author technical reports, specifications, work instructions, and process documentation.

Preferred

  • Experience with advanced energy storage technologies such as Lithium-Ion, Sodium-Ion, Ultracapacitors, or related battery technologies.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.

  • SAP experience.

  • PLATO FMEA software experience.

  • Experience supporting globally aligned manufacturing standards and processes.

  • Master's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support equipment suppliers, manufacturing sites, and project launches.
