Join our team as a Senior SQ&D Engineer!
As a Senior SQ&D Engineer, you will support supplier quality and development activities, contributing to performance improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment with quality and delivery standards. In this role, you will help ensure that suppliers meet expected performance levels by supporting APQP and PPAP processes, monitoring key metrics, and collaborating closely with internal teams and suppliers. You will also act as a key interface for supplier-related topics, helping bring the Voice of the Supplier into the organization while supporting issue resolution and continuous improvement efforts
What you'll do:
- Manage the performance of assigned suppliers through regular metrics reviews and follow-ups
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and support continuous improvement of quality and delivery
- Deploy and contribute to supplier development projects
- Support resolution of operational issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders, following escalation processes
- Develop and maintain supplier KPIs and scorecards to track performance over time
- Manage supplier claims and ensure their timely and effective resolution
- Conduct supplier audits (including VDA/CSA) and follow up on corrective actions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to ensure supplier performance
- Ensure supplier compliance with applicable quality standards and regulations
- Support and drive APQP activities through to project completion
- Validate ODT and PPAP submissions, including change management during serial production
- Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied during both development and serial production phases
- Act as the Voice of the Supplier within the organization
What we need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the automotive or manufacturing industry
- Technical background in automotive, with knowledge of quality systems and process auditing (VDA 6.3 preferred)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment and with production processes
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including APQP, PPAP, D/PFMEA, DOE, ISO, and IATF 16949
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and Cause & Effect analysis
- IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
