Overview:
Individual contributor within sponsorship marketing. Has subject matter expertise pertaining to area of responsibility. Responsible for conceptualizing, development, execution and evaluation of sponsorship marketing programs related to a market segment or business.
May be team lead (without supervisory responsibility), coach others, and/or guide third-party (contractor) activities. Sphere of influence is primarily within department as well as with internal lines of businesses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute against bank’s marketing sponsorship portfolio
- Develop and Execute Sponsorship Strategy: Identify, negotiate, and manage sponsorship opportunities that align with the institution’s brand and business objectives, ensuring maximum ROI and brand visibility. These include but are not limited to Pan-Mass Challenge and opportunities in Women’s Sports.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, business development, and external partners to integrate sponsorship initiatives into broader marketing campaigns and community engagement efforts.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track and evaluate the success of sponsorship programs using KPIs, providing regular reports and recommendations to optimize future opportunities.
- Understands needs mission, vision and strategic direction of the enterprise
- Develops strong relationships primarily across the department and with key partners across the division, when necessary.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for domain. Able to influence, create alignment, and inspire action across colleagues.
- Keeps apprised of relevant best practices with no supervision from others. May help shape department, architecture and/or framework.
- Able to translate requirements into appropriate tasks/assignments. Provides realistic delivery timelines.
- Communicates clearly with team members as well as stakeholders across the enterprise.
- Supports the implementation of procedures, practices, and routines within area.
- May represent M&T in external events for research and networking activities that benefit the company.
- Able to complete assigned work with no assistance from others. Proactively and effectively leverages other team members to complete assignments

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree
5 years of marketing experience (Or in Lieu of a degree, a combination of 9 years of higher education and relevant experience)
Experience in dealing with escalated issues and resolving unique and significantly complex problems
Has demonstrated strong working relationships with internal and external partners
Ability to research, evaluate and recommend changes to initiative or project
Experience in mentoring and/or onboarding more junior talent
Technical Expert and/or independent judgment
M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $98,720.40 - $164,534.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
