Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

The Bulk Operations team sit within Production and are responsible for Filling, Dumping, Vatting and Warehousing of our products. The team are based across our sites in the Central Belt and in Speyside and are driving a high level of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Operational Excellence standards.

Your unique contribution

The role of the Spirit Supply Operator is to carry out all cask-handling tasks necessary to enable new spirit to be processed into mature blended spirit.

You will have four areas of responsibility:

  • Cask Management - to fill and despatch casks to meet customer requirements and receive and disgorge filled casks to meet blending requirements and to supply Vatting. You will also supply empty to meet inventory requirement on filling, dumping, sales and storage.
  • Operations – to operate machinery, vehicles and equipment as appropriate and to assist the maintenance team as required.
  • Collaboration – to participate towards a positive safety culture and contribute to the Continuous Improvement Process. You will also support training of colleagues.
  • Compliance – to record activities on paperwork and computer where necessary. You will also maintain spirit integrity through checking identity of casks received or filled and checking casks are fit for fill and do not leak when filled, reporting any anomalies promptly.

Internally, you will collaborate with other departments across the business including Operations, Planning, Blending & Engineering.

  • Have experience in a similar role with experience operating within Health & Safety, Environmental, Revenue and Customs and other statutory requirements and with regard to Bond Security.
  • Can perform tasks within a given time constraints and according to the operational plan.
  • Can demonstrate the ability to develop new skills and train others.
  • Are able to understand and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Hold a Forklift Truck License.
