Position Function:
Under the supervision of the Department Manager or designee, these positions are accountable for the accurate and timely processing of all incoming and outgoing payments, investigation and resolution of wire operations discrepancies, assisting the Manager and Supervisor in ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed and the department's internal and regulatory reporting requirements are met. Further, the higher level positions serve as backup for all department functions. The Wire Transfer Specialist assists the Manager by performing higher-level duties in preparation for promotion to the next position.

Primary Accountabilities:
- Inputs, verifies, approves, releases and ensures notification of outgoing and incoming Fed, SWIFT, and Internet payments.
- Prepares, posts, balances, and reconciles daily accounting and system EOD processes
- Tracks, maintains, and compiles data as necessary to assist or meet the department’s reporting requirements
- Knowledge of and compliance with the state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, and the bank’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act ,OFAC, UCC4A, Reg E, and other consumer protection regulations and industry, ethical or fiduciary practices or standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Specialist I and II:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Specialist I:
- 1+ year of experience in Banking/Financial service experience required.
- Wire transfer experience preferred.
Specialist II:
- 2+ years of experience in Banking/Financial service experience required.
- Wire transfer experience preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
- Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
- Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
- Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.

Skills Required

- At least 1 year of banking or financial services experience for Specialist I
- At least 2 years of banking or financial services experience for Specialist II
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field
- Wire transfer experience

- Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
