Position Summary
The Supply Chain and Logistics Specialist provides strategic and operational support across Logistics, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless execution of business priorities. This position serves as a subject matter expert in material management, inventory control, and supply chain operations, driving inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires the ability to independently prioritize competing demands, analyze complex operational challenges, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and support manufacturing readiness. Success in this role requires strong collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership through influence in a fast-paced GMP-regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive operational effectiveness by providing cross-functional support across Logistics, Warehouse, and Manufacturing functions based on evolving business priorities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding workload status, issues, and priorities.
- Advanced Oracle navigation- Perform transactions, submit and edit lot information, completion of electronic workorders, systematic transfer of materials between Orgs, transfer order transactions, etc.
- Systematic Validation Support, assist in overseeing- locator controls crosschecking thousands of combinations reporting 100% accuracy, overseeing and updating lot status’s ensuring that only active materials generate in automated transaction request.
- Provide strategic oversight of manufacturing documentation processes, ensuring compliant execution, accuracy, and completion of physical and electronic work orders and batch records in support of clinical production objectives.
- Conduct and oversee line clearance activities and material inspections to ensure production readiness, material traceability, and prevention of product mix-ups.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including regular audits, documentation maintenance, and corrective action implementation.
- Oversee the safe and efficient movement of materials utilizing carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate the transfer of materials between central warehouse and laboratory stockrooms, ensuring inventory accuracy, traceability, and documentation compliance.
- Utilize “PAR,” an RF Oracle inventory management system to execute and monitor material replenishment activities, ensuring inventory accuracy and uninterrupted laboratory operations.
- Assist with put-away, storage, and internal material transfers in compliance with handling and temperature requirements.
- Partner with logistics and supply chain teams to drive operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
- Oversee inventory control processes for 1,500+ active SKUs across a 200,000-square-foot distribution facility, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and compliance with inventory management standards.
- Drive transportation and shipment management processes through strategic partnerships with FedEx, OptiFreight, and other carriers, ensuring service-level performance and rapid resolution of delivery exceptions.
- DOT Contributor- Contribute to SOP revisions, new document implementations, initiate change controls, etc.
- Follow all SOPs, GMP standards, and safety procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE when handling materials, including hazardous substances.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces using 5S principles.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks and maintain cleaning logs.
- Complete assigned training and remain compliant with operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in materials management, warehousing, shipping, receiving or related fields.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute
- Experience in regulated laboratory and compliance-driven environments.
- Knowledge of parcel shipping processes, including packaging, label creation, and carrier pickup coordination.
- Experience utilizing ERP/WMS systems for purchase order receiving, inventory management, and transaction processing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, data entry, email communication, and inventory management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing, authoring, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and validated processes that improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Previous experience training new and existing employees on all relevant receiving and replenishment processes.
- Reading/research and understanding of industry related issues and trends in warehousing, material handling, customer support, and use of technology in logistics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative with strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Experience operating material handling equipment as needed (forklift, pallet jack, etc.).
