Job Summary
The purpose of the role is the development of Reporting by implementing a new technology architecture involving SAP DI, SAP BW4 Hana, SAC and A4O as well as participate in research, design, development and testing of improvements or new SAP Reporting solutions to ensure financial data integrity. Assist with the strategy and business requirements for SAP BW and SAC Financial Reporting systems and to manage and deliver financial, regulatory and management reports for internal and external reporting. Provide thought leadership, training and support to stakeholders and team.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and technical direction; working closely with business users, BAs, PMs and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis, design and development of quality technical solutions that are aligned with the business and IT strategies, and are in compliance with the organization’s architectural standards; and application analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement, and also involved in complex support issues.
- Provide technical solutions, guidance and steer to fulfil business requests using SAP’s BW (Business Warehouse) development language, tools, approaches, and industry best practice.
- Design, develop, configure, migrate, test and implement SAP BW and SAC data warehousing solutions
- Design, model and build data flows including BW components
- Develop Process chains to load and monitor data loading
- Implement performance tuning techniques within the SAP BW landscape.
- Build, test, publish and broadcast BW reports using Eclipse, Analysis for Office and SAC.
- Develop and enhance custom extractors using function modules and CDS technology.
- Provide ongoing support of the existing Reporting landscape, Data Services and BW systems design
- Translate functional specifications into technical specifications and ensure a comprehensive data warehouse
- Design with Business users and BA’s and build and maintain standard and custom financial, regulatory, statutory and management reports to support internal and external reporting
- Evaluate and maintain design sustainability of financial, regulatory and statutory reports
- Advise and optimise on the design of reporting components.
- Support and ensure accuracy of specific financial, regulatory and management reports
- Troubleshoot issues in financial, statutory and regulatory reporting systems and processes and advise users/raise issues to correct
- Critically assess requests for business requirement analysis
- Contribute towards financial systems data alignment and integration by investigating breaks in integration between systems and monitoring fixes
- Identifying opportunities to streamline the use of financial data and system functionality
- Establish and enforce a stable environment for the maintenance/enhancement of financial processes
- Apply critical thinking & problem-solving skills to contribute to all phases of the reports and reporting systems development lifecycle
- Continuously assess the efficiency of systems and processes in place in the department and make detailed recommendations on improvements
- Co-ordinate all maintenance and operational activities performed on the finance system to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Manage the quality of the design, build and implementation of reporting deliverables, including that of the development team.
- Manage delivery priorities, work scheduling, and demand against team capacity.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive BW and reporting experience translating complex requirements in an optimal BW design
- Planning and organizational skills, including ability to engage with multiple development projects concurrently and working to tight deadlines.
- Proven expertise in BW and HANA architecture/design and data modelling
- Experience in the development, implementation, and management of a Business Intelligence Architecture strategy and roadmap
- Deep and broad exposure and understanding of SAP Business Warehouse concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Good understanding of data modelling
- Thorough understanding of the principles of computer systems validation, SDLC and Agile methodologies, including testing approaches.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills ensuring the ability to interact with the business, peers and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to plan, manage and co-ordinate team deliverables.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Years of hands-on development experience with BW4 HANA is a must
- 8 years of experience in SAP BI/BW application development and implementation
- A good understanding of connecting non-sap data to SAP.
- A good understanding of SAP S/4HANA, in terms of reporting outcomes.
- 8 years of experience with SAP BW architecture, data modelling, design and development
- Must have 4 plus years development experience on BW4 HANA, Modelling, Reporting.
- Excellent on BW4 HANA modelling
- Excellent on Eclipse, Analysis for Office and SAC
- Should have sound knowledge on end – to – end implementation on BW4HANA
- Experience in SAP Analytics Cloud, Stories, Dashboards
- Experience in LSA++ Methodology
- Experience of handling various types of SAP extractors
- Experience of developing reports using BW query
- Experience in training the users on BW Queries and resolving the tickets
- Experience in creating technical specs based on the requirements of functional specs
- Experience of working within an Application Support environment to ITIL processes and Project Execution Methodologies e.g., Agile, Waterfall Model
