Job Description
As a Compliance and Risk Specialist II, you'll impact the lives of everyday people and help them go from surviving to thriving with innovative digital personal finance solutions. This person is responsible for leading compliance-focused tests. This person will be responsible to coordinate with a test team to successfully scope, complete process and transactional assessments and publish results to executive leadership within deadline. The role requires a high level of collaboration, organization, risk identification and the ability to manage multi-project objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, an eye for detail, critical thinking and analytical skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have prior experience conducting regulatory tests with working knowledge of Financial Regulations.
What you'll do:
- Lead compliance focus test teams to complete objectives
- Develop test scopes based on business risk(s) and regulation(s)
- Identify transactional reporting needs and collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy
- Conduct business interviews, process, transactional and control testing to identify gaps or potential non-compliance with state or federal regulations as well as policy standards
- Review team members work to ensure accuracy and provide coaching when necessary
- Collaborate with business units to ensure accurate results
- Present findings and conclusions to executive leadership teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects including team progress tracking, follow-up with stakeholders, coordinate meetings, etc
- Assist testing manager with the team's policies, procedures and training material updates
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- 3-5 years financial services compliance, risk management or audit experience completing and documenting reviews with a compliance and/or regulatory focus
- 1-3 years of experience working within a Compliance Management System, Operational Risk Management Program, or similar role
- Self-starter, willing to take action without being asked
- Able to communicate effectively, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity
- Proven ability to analyze data sets, identify themes and trends, and determine root cause analysis
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a cross-functional team
- Capable of managing multiple projects and adapting as necessary to meet or exceed deadlines
- Detail-oriented, with the skill to connect and articulate how specifics relate to the big picture and potential risk
- Ability to address challenging issues while remaining objective and independent
- Willingness and ability to learn new laws, rules, and regulations, their applicability to products and services, and the ability to identify deficiencies based on regulatory requirements and business operations
- Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, complex work environment
- Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Office and Google Office products
- Prior experience within the financial services industry; preferably with an understanding of personal and home equity loans and/or debt relief services, are preferred

Work from home/hybrid:
We are proudly offering hybrid options in the Phoenix, AZ and San Francisco, CA metro markets. In other locations throughout the country, we offer work from home in the following states: WA, NV, UT, TX, IL and a few others.
Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually + bonus + benefits. This information represents the expected salary range for this role. Should we decide to make an offer for employment, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
