This role supports Manulife’s global investment operations by managing the full lifecycle of cash and asset transfers. You’ll ensure timely settlements, accurate reconciliations, and smooth coordination with custodians, Portfolio Managers, clients, and internal teams. This position will help you strengthen your technical expertise, improve transfer processes, and build strong analytical and stakeholder‑management skills in a fast‑paced, global environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor the life cycle of the transfer within Transfers Origination Automation System (TOA)
- Ensure all transfers uploaded into TOA are settled in a timely manner and all downstream systems are updated as required.
- Coordinate between various parties both internal and external to Manulife (custodians, clients both third party and internal, portfolio managers, and internal business units as Market Risk Management, Treasury, Compliance, Securities Administration, Investment Controllers and Accounting)
- Perform daily cash and asset transfer reconciliation between TOA and internal accounting book of records, Simcorp Dimension (SCD).
- Understand key stakeholders’ objectives to enhance the general transfer process while considering various options and the potential impact on stakeholders
- Deliver notifications to appropriate back-office business area for transfers originated from a non-North American custody account
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers (or clients) in order to obtain their preferences for completing transfers in-kind (of securities) or transfers in cash. This involves understanding the procedural implications of each decision
- Perform manual validation on “Trust” portfolios and ensure applicable procedures are followed
- Provide recommendations regarding best practices for completing a particular transfer, including cost considerations
- 2-3 years of experience in a securities or investment operations environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience with PowerBI, PowerApps Automation tools (VBA,robotics) or machine learning is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and cultures.
- Experience with transfer operations, custodial coordination, or investment accounting.
- Exposure to cash and asset reconciliation processes.
