As an Engineering Specialist, you’ll be responsible for writing and overseeing technical product descriptions, using CAD systems for release of drawings, and participating as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
What you’ll do:
Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
Executes preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
Design mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
Perform engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components. Solve design problems and check computations contributing to analytical designs.
Prepare, modify and release drawings created in CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks) to verify fit, form and function of mechanical designs.
Evaluate materials and parts for use in new designs including communicating with current and new suppliers.
Operate in a team environment with other functional areas providing input to design solutions and participate in design reviews.
Determines content of items required in support of costing estimates for proposals. This may include developing bills of materials, engineering hours, proto-type requirements, tooling requirements, non-recurring engineering, qualification and certification action requirements.
Performs other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training in an aircraft MRO environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience preparing documentation and overhaul manuals.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft products required such as Excel and Word.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Solid works or similar CAD software.
Experience with aircraft related activity, to include aircraft maintenance and interior standard practice.
Must be able to handle multiple projects, multiple deadlines and meet aggressive schedules.
Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Desired Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, industrial, or related field)
Experience in MRO and/or aerospace industry
Possess strong organization and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, team building skills
