Corporate support—through media buys, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships—plays a vital role in sustaining this work and expanding our reach. The Digital Media Sales Specialist will help grow this revenue stream by cultivating relationships, developing thoughtful digital solutions, and aligning brand partnerships with our mission and audience.
The Digital Media Sales Specialist role will sell, manage, and execute digital media buys across our platforms directly from corporate sponsors and/or through media agencies. This role combines sales and account management, ensuring both the acquisition of new corporate sponsors and the effective delivery of high-impact digital media campaigns across our diverse platforms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prospect, pitch and close digital advertising and sponsorship opportunities across The WNET Group’s digital platforms, including websites, social media, podcasts, newsletters, and streaming services;
Create customized, integrated sponsorship proposals that highlight WNET’s audience reach and the unique benefits of digital media campaigns;
Serve as a key point of contact for digital sponsorship clients, ensuring their needs are met and maintaining a high level of satisfaction throughout the campaign lifecycle;
Work closely with the integrated media ops, creative, and editorial teams to ensure that digital content is aligned with campaign goals, adheres to brand guidelines, and meets sponsor expectations;
Track campaign performance, collaborate with Research to measure key metrics, and provide regular reports to clients, offering insights into engagement, reach, and ROI; Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, sales activities, and client interactions in CRM; Preparation of proposals, shepherding legal contracts, and other administrative tasks as necessary;
Other relevant duties, as assigned.
Qualified candidates will possess exceptional written and verbal communication, storytelling and presentation skills as well as highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines. Additional qualifications include:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in digital media in a direct sales, sales support, account management, media buying or media strategy role;
Strong understanding of the digital media ecosystem (display, video, social, programmatic, etc.);
Comfortable with prospecting, pitching, and presenting to clients;
Strong knowledge of campaign management across platforms (web, social media, streaming, podcasts);
Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce or similar preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), AirTable.
Candidates with the following experience are strongly preferred and will be well positioned for success in this role: digital ad trafficking systems, digital metrics, a passion for or experience working with public media.

The WNET Group offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $67,000.00 - $70,000.00. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
