Job Summary
CIB is currently looking for a Business Analyst to support the Investment Banking Division, supporting businesses include Financing, Capital Raising and Advisory. This role will require partnering with Business Analysts, Finance and credit teams on desk‑level data and metrics, supporting the investigation and timely resolution of queries through effective stakeholder coordination.Job Description
Accountability: Business Analysis
Support Senior Business Analysts with ad‑hoc financial and strategic reporting requirements.
Analyse pipeline and executed deal data across Investment Banking systems (e.g. Salesforce, MyMI, Front Arena), supporting client and product‑level analysis and contributing to the identification of trends and insights.
Support the preparation and maintenance of Investment Banking Division (IBD) induction materials, ensuring information on products, processes, and structures is accurate and up to date.
Contribute to cost analysis activities, including support of AR recharge models and cost review exercises.
Provide analytical support for core business outputs, including league tables, deal summaries, pipeline activity reporting, cost reviews, and headcount analysis.
Assist with special projects and initiatives as required, including regulatory, remediation, and balance‑sheet‑related workstreams (e.g. JIBAR remediation, RWA analysis).
Support markets data analysis, AI platform assessments, and vendor evaluations, contributing to comparative analysis and documentation.
Perform headcount and vacancy analysis, maintaining accurate organisational structure information to support workforce planning and reporting.
Analyse league tables and competitor analysis utilising various financial market platforms.
Accountability: Finance, PCG, Credit & Capital Management & Reporting
Work closely with Finance to support accurate and timely cost and revenue reporting, including participation in budgeting processes and the tracking of actuals against forecasts.
Ensure that internal management reporting is delivered within agreed timelines and meets high standards of accuracy, quality, and governance.
Review and assist in the preparation of comprehensive management information, in collaboration with infrastructure and data partners, including product dashboards, pipeline activity reports, and regional performance reporting.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Finance, MyMI teams, Desk Heads, Market Data, internal application developers, and in‑country business teams, to support robust reporting and analysis.
Prepare clear, professional presentations and supporting materials for internal meetings, induction programmes, and strategic or business update forums.
Skills & Experience:
Strong Finance experience
Understanding of investment banking products, financing terminology and processes
Ability to perform under strong pressure with very high attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to produce clear presentations of complex data analyses
Ability to think laterally and solve problems with commercial soundness
Strong work ethic and demonstrable history of achievement
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Capable of acting on own initiative with a self disciplined approach to work
Sufficient knowledge of compliance, business principles and corporate values, key applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Education and Experience Required
Postgraduate degree in Finance, or equivalent qualification
3-5 Years comparable experience preferably in Financial Services Industry
