Job Title: Specialist, Administrative Support

Job Summary:
This position provides strategic and operational support to the government relations team across US, UK, and international regions by driving the processes, coordination, and execution needed to advance key team priorities and day to day operations. The role plays a central role in establishing operational discipline across the function managing core workflows, coordination of strategic events and external-facing activities, contracting and invoice processes, team coordination, and assisting in tracking and reporting on key Pearson government relations initiatives, in support of Pearson’s government relations OKRs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports execution of government relations Objectives and Key Results by coordinating workflows, timelines, and deliverables, helping ensure alignment between day-to-day operations and strategic priorities.
- Compiles and maintains reports, updates, and briefing materials to support internal stakeholder awareness of government relations activity, priorities, and impact.
- Coordinates engagement between internal teams and external partners to support the successful execution of strategic initiatives and events in the US.
- Coordinates meetings, tracks deadlines, and manages calendars for government relations activities, principally in the US but at times extending to Europe, ME, Canada and Asia as necessary.
- Creates, maintains, and improves workflows for contracting and invoice management, adapting to local requirements.
- Processes contracts and invoices, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Supports documentation, reporting, and communication between internal teams and external partners.
- Escalates workflow interruptions or process issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Experience handling confidential information, managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality service are essential.
- Attention to detail, discretion, and effective communication.
- Experience in higher level administrative support, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience in state/federal government offices or prior experience supporting government relations functions
- Demonstrated experience of improving processes and workflows.
- Being willing to work across multiple regions and time zones when necessary..
- Critical thinking with ability to operate independently.
- Comfortable deploying commonly-used AI tools effectively to enhance workflows and increase team productivity
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $60,000 – $80,000.
