Job title: Special Projects Manager (CEO's Office)
Reports to: Group CEO
Grade level: Senior Manager
Contract Type: Fixed Term
About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic, solutions-driven operator to work directly with the CEO through a high-volume, high-impact season running from now until January 2026. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who can anticipate needs, solve problems, and move things forward, quietly and powerfully.
Job Summary:
- As Special Projects Manager (CEO’s Office), you will carry significant weight: managing high-stakes projects, streamlining priorities, tightening workflows, and serving as a calm, strategic right hand. You’ll help the CEO stay clear-headed and focused by ensuring execution is tight, communication is seamless, and decisions turn into outcomes.
- This role is ideal for someone with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to bring clarity, order, and momentum to complex initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Management
- Drive execution on a range of high-priority, time-sensitive projects owned by the CEO, from concept to delivery.
- Build and maintain structured work plans, timelines, and progress tracking across multiple streams.
- Coordinate across internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
- Surface risks early and problem-solve with speed and clarity.
Executive Enablement & Strategic Support
- Act as a filter and force multiplier for the CEO, managing access, prioritising inputs, and aligning the team around what matters most.
- Prepare briefing notes, meeting summaries, and decision trackers to keep the CEO and stakeholders focused.
- Attend key meetings on behalf of or alongside the CEO to ensure clarity of decisions and follow-through.
- Draft strategy memos, internal comms, and high-level emails that move projects forward.
Organisation & Flow Management
- Keep the CEO organised, structured, and on-track, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and commitments are clearly visible and moving forward.
- Own the weekly cadence of check-ins, priorities, and status updates, serving as a calm center in a fast-moving environment.
- Support internal planning rhythms (weekly standups, milestone reviews, decision forums).
- Responsible for using and maintaining the filing system of the company at any times and in line with existing policies.
- Undertaking any necessary duties to ensure a first class service is provided at all times.
- To be an ambassador for the business always.
What Success Looks Like:
- Projects move with momentum, clarity, and accountability, even across multiple streams.
- The CEO’s time and attention are protected from noise and distractions.
- Execution is tight, priorities are managed, and workflows are organised.
- The CEO is able to lead, create, and make decisions from a place of clarity, not chaos.
Qualifications, Competency & Skills Required:
- 5+ years in project management, strategic operations, or an equivalent cross-functional leadership role.
- Proven experience working closely with C-level executives or founders.
- Strong writing, structuring, and communication skills, especially for executive audiences.
- Comfortable with modern work tools (Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, Trello/Asana, Notion, etc.).
- A confident operator with strong strategic instincts and a bias for execution.
- Comfortable managing multiple moving parts and working independently with minimal handholding.
- Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and able to manage up, across, and down.
- A trusted executor who brings both precision and calm to high-stakes environments.
- You have strong admin and writing skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence cross-functional teams
- Experienced Microsoft Office user, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Competent Internet, Email, and Google applications user.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Location:
- Lagos, Nigeria; including other locations as required.
Office Hours:
- 08.00 to 17.00 Mondays to Fridays.
