WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Special Events Associate is responsible for supporting the casino marketing team as a brand ambassador at Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The position will assist with event planning, greeting and guiding guests, and various special projects and events in the casino. The Special Events Coordinator will also assist with internal/employee focused special events.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain exceptional customer service at every interaction.
Serve as a greeter, brand ambassador, usher and/or ticket taker for events.
Research and input purchase orders for all event expenses (gifts, décor, entertainment, emcees, collateral, F&B).
Assemble gift packages, mailers, welcome packets and other event related materials.
Attend all casino events and assist in the overall event execution and supervision.
Ensure 3rd party vendors have appropriate access and training.
Assist with event set up and tear down for all events.
Maintain accurate inventory of all events related materials and gifts/prizes.
Support logistics of drawings, promotions, slot and tables tournaments, awarding prizes, and the completion of winner’s logs and other required auditing and compliance paperwork.
Understands the basics of Title-31 in relation to their job functions.
Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 6 months related experience.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights / holidays / weekends.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
At least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED
Prior experience in a casino-resort setting.
Associate or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
Must regularly lift and/move up to 20 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
