Position Summary
The SOX Analyst is a member of the SOX Management Group (SMG) function in Finance. SMG leads the Bank’s efforts to plan and execute the Bank’s SOX 404 compliance effort. This position executes the Bank’s SOX compliance efforts.
The SOX function includes responsibility for overseeing the Bank’s program to certify that its internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) are effective.
Primary Success Factors

Executes the Bank’s SOX 404 compliance effort, including developing appropriate practices and processes to ensure timely completion on an annual basis.

SOX 404 compliance includes project planning, process scoping and reviewing documentation and test plans of key controls

Responsible for execution of key control testing and evaluation of results, including coordination with Internal Audit.

SOX 404 compliance includes classifying, analyzing and determining appropriate courses of action for identified deficiencies. In addition, this role will express opinions and evaluation of the deficiency to the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer.

Serves as the primary point of contact for the GRC system.

Serves as the Finance department’s EUC coordinator.

Coordinates with Enterprise Risk Management as the SOX specialist in the annual risk assessment process.

Serves as the champion for the Accounting and Financial Reporting macro business process.

Facilitates the completion of the Bank’s SOX fraud risk assessment.

Responsible for the Bank’s SOX 302 sub-certification process which includes facilitating quarterly completion of self-assessments by business process owners and presents to the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
Required Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

Three or more years of experience in accounting and/or auditing , with SOX 404 compliance experience

Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus

Knowledge of provisions of Sarbanes-Oxley Act

Financial reporting skills including working knowledge of financial statements and GAAP reporting requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of banking, with capital markets, market risk, finance/accounting or credit risk is a plus

Excellent PC skills, including Excel and Word
