The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing regional sourcing and supplier contracts, focusing on vendor negotiations, supply chain optimization, and cross-country collaboration. This role involves working with suppliers across multiple countries, ensuring the best value, quality, and timely delivery of materials and services. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the energy sector, and are comfortable managing regional suppliers.
Responsibilities- Compile information and records to prepare agreements in accordance with proper procedures.
- Conduct RFx, contact and negotiate with vendors to obtain product or service information, commercial proposal such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Review bid proposals, establish and manage supplier contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Estimate values according to knowledge of market prices.
- Maintain supplier records in the system, such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Manage relationships with regional suppliers across Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, and Singapore by conducting business review and vendor performance monitoring.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Must-Have:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant procurement/sourcing experience.
- Experience managing regional and local supplier contracts.
- Ability to collaborate with multi-country teams and internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
Prefer / Advantageous:
- Experience in the energy sector.
- Exposure to multinational companies.
- Willingness to travel regionally (~5–10%) as required.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, and vendor management.
- Knowledge of billing practices and controls.
