Job Description
Under the direction of the Asia Pacific Sourcing & Logistics Manager, will effectively and efficiently identify, assess, develop, establish and manage related Asian suppliers to ensure the reliable supply continuity of the selected components and commodities to Victaulic globally at the most economical TOTAL costs. Frequent travel (50% as a Min.) is required.
New supplier identification, assessment and establishment for required commodities / components in line with Victaulic Corp. procedures and business practices, to support Victaulic current and potential business needs in Asian Region and globally
Management of the related approved suppliers: including measurement and improvement of responsible Asian suppliers’ capacity, price, lead time, stock, delivery, packaging, logistics, communication, etc. Coordinate with QA and related Engineering people to closely work with responsible suppliers on solving quality issues
Analysis and interpretation of Asian quote packages representing Victaulic global requirements including Asian plants. Negotiation and agreement of global supply contracts for selected commodities and components for Victaulic globally
Timely communication of updated Victaulic requirements, practices & processes to responsible Asian suppliers (such as CCD, new standards, processes, etc.)
Timely search, identify and develop the new suppliers, timely obtain, negotiate and present the quotations from the selected suppliers
Issue the sample or pattern orders to suppliers after the quotations are approved, and effectively follow up the sampling processes and interact with QA and suppliers during the whole sample process
Work in a cross-function environment and implement necessary purchasing tasks as the roles of Sourcing Specialist
Other duties may be assigned by the Asia Pacific Sourcing & Logistics Manager.
Skills Required
- Frequent travel (minimum 50%)
- Experience identifying, assessing, and qualifying suppliers in Asia
- Supplier management including capacity, price, lead time, inventory, delivery, packaging, and logistics
- Negotiation and agreement of global supply contracts
- Cross-functional collaboration with QA and Engineering to resolve quality issues and manage sampling
- Ability to analyze and interpret quote packages and present supplier quotations
- Strong communication skills to convey Victaulic requirements, standards, and processes to suppliers
- Execute purchasing tasks per company procedures and support sourcing manager
