The Role

Sourcing & Procurement Buyer will support the procurement operational staff with confirmations, scanning, order placement, match exceptions, customer service, credit memos, etc.

What to Expect

Hybrid – Full time.

  • Typically, Monday-Friday 8a-5p.  Alternate and additional hours, including across time zones are occasionally required.
  • This hybrid role is central North Carolina-based with one day per quarter on-site in Burlington, NC.
  • The remainder of the schedule is remote

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtains quotes from Suppliers.
  • Selects quality suppliers for procurement of products.
  • Processing purchase orders within the department.
  • Ensures timeliness of response, cost effectiveness, and quality of materials.
  • Serves as a liaison between the corporate purchasing department and other departments within the company to ensure they are kept current in procedures and policies.
  • Special request orders as well as working match exceptions (which includes price discrepancies, quantity/UOM discrepancies, and item shipped discrepancies, etc.) and PO customer services requests.
  • Will be a member of cross departmental teams that will include all stakeholders in the PO/invoice resolution process.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of applicable experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic), required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher  
  • Inventory Management experience
  • Proficiency in procurement software and other relevant tools necessary for efficient data analysis and reporting
