The NPI Sourcing Manager serves as the strategic sourcing lead for new product development programs, partnering with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and suppliers to bring innovative products from concept through commercialization. This role drives supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, risk mitigation, and supply continuity while ensuring successful product launches and long-term business value.

  • Lead sourcing strategy for new product introduction (NPI) programs, partnering closely with engineering, operations, quality, finance, and suppliers to bring innovative products from concept through commercialization.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for new technologies and components, leading sourcing decisions that balance cost, quality, service, risk, and long-term business value.
  • Perform sourcing analysis utilizing financial and non-financial inputs, and leverage knowledge of component cost drivers to develop negotiation strategies and strengthen supplier partnerships.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, contracts, development agreements, cost reduction initiatives, and long-term sourcing strategies that support margin expansion and business growth.
  • Serve as the primary commercial interface between suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders, helping influence decisions, resolve issues, and ensure successful execution of critical project milestones.
  • Own procurement activities throughout the product launch lifecycle, including supplier selection, RFQs, negotiations, awards, launch readiness, and transition to sustaining procurement.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships, drive accountability, and proactively manage supply, cost, quality, and delivery risks to keep projects on track.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to track project costs, identify savings opportunities, support business case development, and ensure successful implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Communicate supplier risks, opportunities, and market insights to project teams and leadership while helping shape sourcing strategies across a diverse global supply base.
  • Support the development of innovative products while gaining broad exposure to manufacturing processes, supplier technologies, and cross-functional business leaders throughout the organization.

 

Required –

  • Bachelor's Degree (Supply Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or related field - preferred)
  • 8+ years relevant experience
  • Knowledge and application of supplier contract strategy, negotiations, contractual terms, and contract administration
  • Excel experience  

 

Preferred –

  •  4+ years in Supply Management with focus on strategic sourcing and supplier development

  


$102,600 - $171,000 USD Annual
