The Sourcing Coordinator supports day-to-day purchasing and sourcing activities by processing purchase orders, monitoring inventory needs, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting plant and operational requirements. This role requires strong organization, follow-up, and the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Issue purchase orders and track orders through delivery.
- Expedite orders to support urgent operational needs.
- Follow up with suppliers on order status, lead times, and delivery dates.
- Resolve backorders, delivery issues, shortages, and order discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels for recurring non-stock and frequently purchased items.
- Review stockout reports and initiate reorders to help prevent shortages.
- Identify slow-moving or excess inventory to help reduce unnecessary carrying costs.
- Source products and supplies for routine and one-time purchasing requests.
- Obtain and compare supplier pricing, availability, and lead times.
- Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, FSQS, and other departments regarding purchasing needs.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and communicate supply or delivery concerns.
- Support additional sourcing and procurement activities as assigned.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Previous purchasing, sourcing, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple purchasing requests and changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively with plant operations and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable making timely sourcing decisions for routine and urgent requests.
- Strong communication and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn purchasing and inventory systems.
Skills Required
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Previous purchasing, sourcing, inventory, or supply chain experience
