The Solution Engineer (SE) is a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen with a strong customer-facing focus.
The Solution Engineer (SE) is a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen with a strong customer-facing focus. The SE will be responsible for key tasks such as overseeing project implementation, providing ongoing technical support throughout the client's lifecycle, and assisting with technical issues or troubleshooting. Creating integration solutions and delivering presentations. Acting as the technical lead, you will serve as the primary point of contact for technical consultations, using your knowledge and experience to help our partners. Measuring success in this role depends on quality-driven deliverables, integration detail reviews from our engineering teams, technical designs, and test plans. Working closely with the business development and product teams, you are the key connector to integrate established best practices, standards, and strategic direction.
This role combines technical expertise and sales acumen to support sales teams. They work closely with the sales team and clients, understanding customer needs and translating them into effective, tailored solutions. Acting as a bridge between technical and business functions, a Solutions Engineer not only helps demonstrate and implement the product’s capabilities but also communicates complex technical details in a way that resonates with clients. Their role requires both the ability to engage with customers directly and the technical know-how to ensure the product meets client requirements effectively.
What You'll Do:
- Work closely with the sales team, product, and merchants to drive the successful implementation of Sezzle’s payment solution.
- Collaborate with product development teams to ensure payment solutions meet market needs and compliance requirements.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including clients and partners, to understand their payment needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing guidance and support
- Understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions using the company’s products or services.
- Work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise during the sales process.
- Assist in creating technical proposals and Request for Proposal responses.
- Act as a technical advisor to customers, recommending solutions and best practices.
- Provide ongoing technical consultation throughout the sales cycle to address questions and challenges.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and guide customers in resolving them, often working with support or engineering teams.
- Analyze and resolve complex technical problems that arise during solution implementation.
What We Look For:
- Strong knowledge of payment processing systems, eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Wix, BigCommece, Magento), gateways, APIs, and integration into software
- Familiar with client SDK
- Strong understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and webhooks.
- Understanding e-commerce workflows like cart management, payments, shipping, and product management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Bachelor’s (or equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- Fintech/Payment business background a plus
- Able to think critically under pressure
- Strong presentation and communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and diverse audiences.
- Customer-oriented mindset to work closely with clients and internal teams to solve business challenges.
- Ability to write clear, detailed documentation for technical processes and solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving & analytical skills
- Proven ability to work with enterprise clients, gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong presentation and communication skills to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience providing post-integration support to ensure smooth operations for clients.
