The Team  

Our Health Modernization Solutions (HMS) team works side by side with customers to articulate a vision for success, and then make it happen. We know success doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a seasoned Solutions Architect who will be a key driver to make this happen. 

 

The Work  

Our team will assist HHS and GSA’s Centers of Excellence (CoE) in building a modern IT enterprise architecture with effective data governance and DevSecOps. We will assess the current network, infrastructure, applications, and data, identify strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities, and envision an optimal future IT environment while understanding customer needs. 

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties  

  • Conduct technical reviews to ensure alignment with the defined solution, and identify areas for improvement and innovation 

  • Lead the development of solution artifacts, such as white papers, Concept of Operations Graphics (CONOPS), architecture diagrams, and technical volumes 

  • Develop and present solutions to senior leadership ensuring clarity, compliance, and alignment with customer needs.  

  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the federal market and the solution domain.  

  • Help balance of the needs of security, tech debt, feature, and defect work  

  • Evolve the team’s capabilities toward high performing DevSecOps practices, including refining release strategies, expanding use of cloud development tools, and continuously optimizing development processes  

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related field 

  • 5 years’ experience of experience building, testing, and delivering production web-based systems 

  • 5 years’ experience f application architecture or product development experience

  • 5+ years of experience communicating directly with senior business stakeholders

  • 5+ years of experience leading technology teams

  • Knowledge of application architecture and multiple design patterns to include monolithic (n-tier), service-oriented, and serveless architectures

  • ​​Knowledge of .NET web applications 

  • Extensive experience with cloud-based data storage solutions, such as AWS Simple Storage Solution(S3) 

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow integrations with external applications 

  • Extensive knowledge of RESTful web services 

  • Extensive experience with data management and governance principles 

  • Infrastructure and Cloud Architecture Knowledge and Skills 

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust 

  • Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S. 

  • Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • 3+ years of experience in defining cloud system architecture  

  • Experience with software development working in Agile teams 

  • Strong communication skills and business acumen  

  • Experience on a software development team building modern software products. 

  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 

 

Job Location:
