Hiscox Europe, which includes Germany, France, Benelux, Iberia and Ireland, is hiring a Solution Architect to be part of our multiple transformation initiatives, by helping establish principles and best practices to build a cohesive Business and Technology change and delivery capability.  

As part of the Europe Technology Team, based in Lisbon, and reporting to the Europe Head of Architect, you'll leverage your expertise to architect systems that meet and exceed the evolving needs of our insurance products and services. Collaborate with diverse teams, harnessing technology to optimise operations and deliver innovative insurance solutions.

How will you help us? With your experience, skills and competencies in designing solutions…

• Establish adaptable architecture, ensuring agility in adhering to evolving architectural principles and policies within the insurance landscape.
• Create dynamic solutions by fusing business insights with emerging technologies, enabling next-gen insurance product/service capabilities in aligning technology endeavours with business objectives, driving the adoption of industry best practices and modern standards.
• Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders, project leads, developers, and fellow architects to craft solutions that align seamlessly with business objectives in the insurance domain.
• Scout and evaluate emerging tech relevant to insurance business/systems, advising on their integration or enhancement.
• Identify and tackle tech risks, fortifying the security and resilience of our insurance systems

What do we expect from you? To help and actively be a change agent for our teams and…

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years in Solution Architecture preferably within insurance, showcasing successful tech solutions.
• Proficient in API integration, cloud platforms (Azure), CRM (Dynamics 365), databases, security protocols, and relevant programming languages.
• Familiarity with core systems such as Guidewire, Sapiens Core Suite for P&C, Duck Creek or TIA is a strong plus.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical prowess to address complex technical challenges within the insurance landscape.
